Can i setup email notification to my self, for calendar event, one day before the event is scheduled?

It depends.

1. You can set up an alarm any time before an event starts. The default setting can be set in the Options panel, but for each event, you can set up how much time beforehand it rings. So yes, it is possible to set an alarm 1 day (or even 7 days) before an event.

2. How you send an alarm depends on the individual calendar. If you use a local calendar, the only option is to show an alarm. However, if you use a Google calendar, then you can opt for an alarm by email.
