So far, it appears that it won't display recurring events, only one-time events. I was not able to find anything about this as a bug.
Anyone?

Really, no one because you didn't indicate what version of Lightning and Thunderbird you are using. Whether this is a calendar on the computer or a network calendar. If a network calendar what type, ICS, CalDAV, Google?
Thunderbird 60.6.1 with Lightning 6.2.6.1 shows recurring events for me in my Home calendar using Find Events.
Does it work if you disable all other extensions except Lightning?
