Thunderbird Lighitning database is empty.

Post by hkachhia »

Hello,

I am want to access Thundirbird lighting database to get event information. I have found database location from below link

http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic ... &t=2427839

location : AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\default profile\calendar-data

In the above path "local.sqlite" database is available. But I haven't found any event details in this table. Can you please tell me how to get event information from the database or database location is changed in the latest version.

I am using Thunderbird : 52.9.1(32 bit) on windows 10 machine
Lightning : 5.4.9.1

Does it know about any calendars? Events and tasks are not store separately, they're part of a calendar.

Do you have any calendar data such as tasks? I normally use tasks rather than events to maintain a calendar based appointment/to-do list because it lets me use longer descriptions.

https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/th ... /versions/ lists version 5.4 but not a version 5.4.9.1 of Lightning. I suspect you're using the right version since it's correct according to https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/doc ... r_Versions and I've found threads that mention using it. But its puzzling.

http://kb.mozillazine.org/Files_and_fol ... hunderbird mentions several other files used to store calendar data, mainly for offline use or backwards compatibility. I'd also check if you have a *.ics file (created if you exported your calendar)

Yes, I have calendar data. There are so many events available on my calendar.

See attached screenshot for lighting that is used in Thunderbird.

I'm still relatively unused to Lightning since I used ReminderFox instead for many years. One possibility would be to backup your profile, install a older version of Thunderbird (perhaps 45.8.0) in a different directory (use custom setup to do that) and then downgrade the version of Lightning to the appropriate version (you will need to download and install the *.xpi file). See if it displays the events. If it does, export the calendar as a *.ics file, exit, run Thunderbird 52.9.1, install Lightning 5.4.9.1 and then import the *.ics file as a new calendar. See if the events are still visible.

What is the URL for the web page that you took a screen shot of? Its not linked to by the add-ons web page on thunderbird.net and that version isn't listed in http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/calendar/lightning/releases/ . So I'm curious where 5.4.9.1 can be downloaded.

Is Reminderfox able to create an event?
Currently, I am able to see event, task and reminder in Lighting. There is no issue in lighting calendar. But I need event information for the database to share event information in the network.
Using lighting I am able to add attendee in the event but I also need to inform same information on local network also.

I am taking a screenshot of my own lighting calendar. once you click on the add-on, then it displays add-on information in the new page.

It doesn't have anything called events, it has reminders and to-lists. But my tasks window in Lightning is configured to match as closely as possible what ReminderFox uses for reminders. What it doesn't have is a calendar window (events shown on a weekly or monthly calendar).

I have moved my *.ics file from ReminderFox to Lightning and later on back to ReminderFox without problems. It is possible to send calendar invites based on reminders, and to share either the entire calendar or share on a event by event basis . It uses the CalDAV protocol to sync with Google calendar (doesn't support the provider for google calendar add-on AFAIK). Its has far less features than Lightning, but is simpler to use and stable/mature. The current version supports Thunderbird 5.* through 60.*, and is actively maintained.
