Default Timezone to Local Time for all new events

Is there a way to set the default timezone for all new events to be Local Time?

Under Event options you can choose Show Timezones.

Then when you create a new event, it will default to the setting you have picked under Tools > Options > Calendar > Timezone.
There is no option to select Local Time in Tools > Options > Calendar > Timezone.

Although I can manually change the timezone to Local Time for each event I create, it would be great if it could be done automatically for me.

The local time isn't the same as the selected closest city in your timezone?

Mine is America/New York where it is the same local time as it is here in Pennsylvania.

So when you create an event, you can set the time of the event to any timezone you want. It will default to the setting you have under Options.

But there is also a choice (when creating an event) to set the timezone to Local Time.

When you do this, then the time of the event wont change when you change your timezone on your computer or in thunderbird.

So if my timezone is set to America/New York and I create an event for 9am then if I change my timezone to America/Los Angeles the event time changes to 6am.

However if I create the event and use Local Time, then the event will always stay at 9am even when I change timezones.

I travel back and for from East coast to West coast but most of my events I want them set to Local Time so the time is fixed.

That is if you have "Show Timezones" in the Event Toolbar.

So I added that to my toolbar.
Clicked Show Timezones and got America/New York in the event.
Changed it to America/Los Angles and the time changed to LA time.
Searched the whole list of time zones and can't find any Local Time in the list.
The list starts with UTC/GMT.

Do you have other calendar extensions installed?

Do you expect your computer to change time as you travel without any human interaction?

So in my list, UTC/GMT is the second choice and Local Time is the first choice. I dont see how to attach a screenshot, but will do so if I figure that out.

No I have no extensions installed.

No I dont want the computer to change the times when I change timezones. If I set it for 9am New York time then when I change my time zone to Los Angeles I still want it to say 9am. This is what the Local Time does correctly.

Okay, I see it now.

I did close Thunderbird and restart it, and honestly I did not see it before.

I have no idea how you could use Local Time as a default.
