Thunderbird has just had a major update.
The calendar in Thunderburd no longer syncs with Google Calendar on my android phone.
I appear to have the latest version of the add-on (updated today - 26 Nov 2018).
I have restarted my PC after confirming this version.
Is there a solution?

Your Thunderbird is now version 60.3.1, with Thunderbird 6.2.3.1 and Provider for Google Calendar 4.4.2?
No problem for me creating an event in my Google calendar on Thunderbird, opening the calendar on my Android phone, selecting "Refresh" and having the event appear.
Deleted the event in Lightning, and it immediately deleted from the phone.
What is your refresh rate for the Google calendar in Thunderbird?
Right click on the Google calendar in Lightning.
Select Properties.
There are 3 selections, "Every 30 minutes", "Every 60 minutes" and "Manually".
Mine is set at "Every 60 Minutes". So I wouldn't expect an event to show up on my phone until an hour after its creation.

I can't find anything looking like 6.2.3.1
I can't find a Google calendar in Lightning - only its own calendar.
The refresh is set to every 60 minutes.

There is no Thunderbird 6.2.3.1.
You can supply the information requested. Just go to Help > Troubleshooting Information.
Under Application Basics you will see the version of Thunderbird.
Version 60.3.1
Scroll down the page to the Extensions section and you will see the names and version numbers of the extensions.

Did you do an uninstall of the extension first?

PROBLEM SOLVED!
The new version of Thunderbird had defaulted its calendar to display Events AND Tasks.
Google Calendar doesn't (apparentlly) support tasks.
Once I changed TBird to only display events, it sychronised OK.
