AWS mail and calendering

'Morning people,

We are presently running Thunderbird portable version 60.4.0 32 bit version with Lightning 6.2.4.

I'm presently booted up on a Windows workstation but in fact run this on all sorts of devices from a encrypted USB stick.

Is anybody else using AWS mail and trying to use it with Thunderbird plus Lightning?

I can synchronise mail to Thunderbird using the AWS servers but my test posts of calendar items do not synchronise.

Can anybody suggest where I might start to have a look?

PS - I know IMAP is mail only and does not contain a calendar feed - perhaps I need to find a client that does SMTP or something similar?
