Sunbird
I realize that Sunbird was discontinued a long time ago, but I thought that perhaps
someone here could offer a suggestion nonetheless.
I installed Sunbird on Win 10 a few months ago and there is one feature that
doesn't work now strangely.
I can't set Repeat appointments.
When I check the Repeat box, the program won't accept the repeat appointment.
Any ideas?
Everything else seems to be working OK. *
Would anyone have a workaround?
*I spoke too soon.
There is another glitch.
Appt. reminders aren't working well.
They are reminding as much as 2.75 hrs. AFTER the appt.
someone here could offer a suggestion nonetheless.

Re: Sunbird
This might be better in the Calendar forum, so I am moving it there.

Re: Sunbird
I kept Sunbird around for quite some time, but as SeaMonkey has Lightning, I found it not necessary to have a dupe. Same program to my mind.MozillaMonkey wrote:I realize that Sunbird was discontinued a long time ago, but I thought that perhaps

Is Lightning a calendar app?
How much extra baggage will I need to bear with SeaMonkey?
Can I do a minimum install to get Lightning?

Sunbird and Lightning are one and the same, one built-in to SeaMonkey, the other standalone. Let me look at how to make sure you can run it in SM.

I have a great e-mail software that I have been using for 20 years now,
so there is no need for Thunderbird.
You mentioned Lightning standalone. Could you tell me where I can get this version?

Re: Sunbird
Well I bit the bullet, installed Thunderbird and now can't use the Calendar.
Nothing works.
Any tips on where I find out how to get it to work?
I did not set up an e-mail account because I don't need to use TB e-mail.
I just went straight to the Calendar part.
Thanks!

Re: Sunbird
What version of Thunderbird did you install?
To use the calendar in 91.1.0 you need to create an email account.

I have 91.1.1.
I was able to get the Calendar to work by closing the app and then re-starting it.
I actually didn't need to create an e-mail account for this.
But I ended up creating one anyway because I am having trouble importing my Sunbird calendar
and thought perhaps by adding an e-mail account it would help.
I'm still looking for guidance on importing my Calendar (I posted this in the TBird forum too).
I just figured it out (used .csv).

Re: Sunbird
Well that was pretty useless.
The .csv calendar file imported, but all the appointments are 3 hours later !!!
Talk about a bug!

I figured what have I got to lose?
Now I can't see how to get/install Lightning Calendar?
Any tips?
Thanks!

Re: Sunbird
No need to install. It comes built-in with SM 2.53.9.MozillaMonkey wrote:OK I bit the bullet once again and installed SeaMonkey.

Check Add-ons and confirm it is enabled.
Open the Mail & Newsgroups window.
Click "Events and Tasks", then select Calendar.
It should open in a tab.
If you have a problem, see the Known Issues section about Lightning.

However I am having the exact same problems with it as I do with
the Lightning calendar (Borders and appt. times 3 hours late).
*Note
Border problem fixed, 3 hours late still a problem.
