Cannot use the rear camera on Android phone to scan QR code

Post by ptoye »

On the UK Covid test reporting site, you are asked to scan a QR code. But Firefox uses the selfie camera (which doesn't recognise QR codes) rather than the rear camera. I can't find a setting to alter this - there must be one because it used to work and I've no idea what's changed (maybe an update to either Android or Firefox). Any ideas how to get it to work?

Thanks in advance,
Peter

Moving to Mobile where the Android version of Firefox is more frequently discussed.

It now (touch wood) sees to be working again. Don't know why - maybe a Firefox update changed something.

And now it's stopped working again. It's odd - the rear camera was used for a second or two and then it switched to the selfie camera. This is a real pain, as I don't know whether it's a Firefox or an Android issue.
