Re: Sort shortcuts A-Z on FF home
I am using standard Firefox Release code ver 108.0b5. I don't think other versions are much different.
I don't know if you will get many replies to your request but I thought I'd suggest.
For the sake of argument, there are two columns that one might consider for sorting bookmarks/shortcuts.
1 - The name of the bookmark
2 - The location or link address which in some cases is http://, https://, http://somesite, https://www.somesite, etc. << the point here is there may be undesirable results in attempting to sort by the URL field.
Sorting by BM/shortcut name makes more sense.
Not knowing how many bookmark shortcuts you may have you could do this:
- Create a sort folder in your normal bookmarks
- Copy or move each bookmark/shortcut into this new folder -- You can accomplish this simply by using Windows tag and mark routing by tagging the first and hold the shift key and mark to the last without crossing group labels (this can be clarified if it is confusing).
- Then you can sort the newly created folder clicking the column title by whichever column you wish and it will sort all the bookmarks/shortcuts in this folder.
- They will remain in that sort condition until you sort again by another field or resort for a newly added bookmark/shortcut.
It is more simple than it might sound. Give it some thought.

I often take a long windy road to my destination. Upon arrival, I wonder how I missed the shortcut.
