Firefox won't go to the site I enter in the location bar

I've been using FF on my Windows PC for donkey's years and know how to use it. But whenever I type a URL into the Android version it simultaneously copies the same data into Google Search.

Since I already know the URL to the site I want to load I don't want to have to Google it and then scroll the results to find it.

So my question is what do I have to do to force FF to directly to the site I entered and not to Google Search?
