Nightly builds?!

Post by wetcaver »

It appears that the most recent builds are available if not nightly at least frequently at:

http://www.meer.net/~dougt/minimo_ce/eng_builds/

The one I just downloaded & installed this morning even comes with its own Activesync installer!

Options include Home Page designation & Small Screen Settings. View Options give user control over
text zoom!+/-

The pull down on the address bar gives access to history of visited sites (almost like bookmarks) & saves primary links as they are visited, saving a lot of time & typing.

The only BUG I have noticed is that if you deselect "Use SSR" (to change to portrait mode & eliminate horizontal scrolling, since desktop display is default?) and forget to go back & reselect it before exiting Minimo, the BLUE GLOBE (options button) is HIDDEN BEHIND THE LEFT MARGIN the next time you start Minimo. I'm sure this will be fixed soon. =D>

You beat me to it! Minimo now includes a installer and nightly builds. Shortly all downloads will be availble via mozilla rather than dougt's page.

I've also updated the FAQ, input is appreciated, I'm adding the new installler info to the FAQ as we speak.

Oh and thanks for the bug, its a known issue. Browse to \Windows\Mozilla\minimo\XUL.mfl and delete this file, it will be recreated and the globe will be back on the screen.

Pardon my ignorance, but if I am testing nightly builds do I have to remove the previous version or just install over it?

I've been removing each nightly build and installing a new one. If your using .008 which does not inluce a installer you can put it in a differnt place and have 2 versions. I'm running aprox. 4 versions right now beacuse ive installed in dif. places and I test builds normally not available.

Also, is there a new one every night? It says last updates on Sept 8, but I didn't know if that was accurate how that all worked.

There will be a build, every week night. Right now I dont know how often you will see posted updates, I know doug would like to post them nightly but that might not happen yet. Right now your getting a sneak peak of nighly builds. All releases and nightlies will be hosted on mozilla.org as soon as doug gets to it. I hope that helps.

Doug is still working out nightly builds. There's a latest trunk: http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/ ... est-trunk/ Which includes a win CE build. Then there's the win CE trunk here also: http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/ ... nce-trunk/

Some of this may change, technically nightly builds aren't up to snuff yet.

Nightly builds not working!

Post by wetcaver »

The most recent release, 0.009, works very well on my device. However, all nightly builds so far since .009 do not work!

http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/ ... -20-trunk/
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/ ... -11-trunk/

I get the old "Cannot find minimo or( one of its components). Make sure the path and file name are correct and all the required libraries are available. "

I have reinstalled .009 both times and it still works as it is supposed to work. Guess I'll keep trying until one of the nightlies works!
