This works on Windows, I still have to test Linux/MacOSX.
The visible 'pocket' menu items in bookmarks menu and in bookmark buttons menu are a Firefox bug. You have to remove pocket button from toolbars and move it to customizing palette. Once its there the menu entries are gone too. Afterwards you can disable the pocket feature using the about:config preference CTR provides.
