streetwolf,

uploaded new version (e10s-1.4.3b1) to the dev channel on AMO.
it should work better on twitter (and other html5 players that use async play)...

streetwolf,

uploaded new version (e10s-1.4.3b2) to the dev channel on AMO.
it should stop sites that cloned the original video element like:
http://www.ign.com/articles/2016/12/28/ ... aled?watch
https://www.vbox7.com/play:1bde3f2de7

please try the links before you update to check the effect...

p.s
it seems the fix to bug 1261585 is implemented so be prepared for broken PB!!!
see https://bug623317.bugzilla.mozilla.org/ ... id=1261585

yochaim..

There appears to be a conflict between FS e10s-1.4.3b2 and the add-on Zenmate 5.9.0 found here.... https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... pn/?src=ss

When ZM is installed it places it's icon on the toolbar. Clicking on the icon produces an empty menu. Disabling FS via the AOM not through the 'disable everywhere' on the FS menu, the ZM menu displays and it works as it should.

**** update ****
ZM doesn't work even when FS disabled. It's just the menu. Just ran with a new profile. ZM works as expected. Might be another add-on or even a pref causing ZM not to work via a proxy. Will have to investigate some more.

Found out that I need to set the pref 'network.proxy.proxy_over_tls = true'. However restarting Fx always sets it back to false.

So it appears there are two issues. FS not allowing the ZM to be filled in and the pref issue.

I found out why ZM didn't use it's proxies and fixed it. Now the only problem that remains is the ZM menu showing up empty with FS.

fyi - It seems that the handler from further up this thread (Oct 31, 2015) is no longer working for money.cnn.com videos. Proactive blocking doesn't seem to work, either. This is FF 50.0.2 & FS 1.4.3.

yochaim..

When FS is running and I click on the ZM icon I get the empty menu shown below along with these in my console log:

TypeError: this.port is undefined[Learn More] popup.js:455:9
MessageHandler resource://firefox-at-zenmate-dot-com/d ... p.js:455:9

e resource://firefox-at-zenmate-dot-com/d ... p.js:21:83
<anonymous> resource://firefox-at-zenmate-dot-com/d ... up.js:1:11

If FS is disabled I do not get these messages at all.

@streetwolf

it's the UBO issue all over again. i'm looking into it...

@meeotch

money.cnn.com moved to html5 so the old handler is not relevant. the issue is related to the changes introduced in 1.4.3 so you can revert to 1.4.2 until i'll upload the fix...

@sn260591

not sure it's such a good idea in general and a per site solution seems an overkill...
anyways i think it could be managed in the current version by special user handler. let me know if your interested and i'll try to make it work...

@yochaim - thanks! Good to know there's already a fix on the way. That site is such a pain in the ass without your plugin.

@sn260591

the solution i was considering is for html5 only (flash code handles its buffering internally) basically forcing the preload attribute to "auto" but it is not as effective as i thought. please add some links to sites you want buffering (with html5 player).

@meeotch

FS 1.4.3 adds a generic check for click on the video element before it is released to play.
they use simulated click to start the video so just need to handle that...

hi meeotch,

i've rechecked money.cnn.com with the FS 1.4.3 version from AMO and can't reproduce the issue (...it does stop the autoplay).
so i have few questions:
do you get html5 video player (very crude) on the site?
is your FF in an e10s disabled mode? (you can check in about:support)
are you having the problem with all the videos? (please post a link to a page where you experience the issue)
