I confirm that IE Tab 1.5.x has stopped working with FF v3.6b1 too.

For those having problems with IE Tab and Firefox 3.6b1, this add-on is no longer being developed and will not work on Firefox 3.6, an alternative is Coral IE Tab.

Please state where the IE Tab developer has posted "I quit." Otherwise, IE Tab has not been discontinued. Please don't spread FUD.

PC Man created IE Tab, but now yuoo2k maintains IE Tab. As far as I know, I haven't seen yuoo2k post anywhere on the internet that he's quit maintaining IE Tab and/or passed it off to another developer.

Greetings,
I've been using IE Tab for quite some time now. However, since Firefox 3.5.2, when I attempt to use IE Tab with Mercury Quality Center / Test Director, Firefox locks up. I've tried Firefox versions 3.5.2, 3.5.3, 3.5.4, and now 3.5.5 and they all behave the same. 3.5.1 works fine still. I've tried IE Tab 1.5.20090525 and Coral IE Tab 1.63.20091024 and no improvement. Did something change with how Firefox 3.5.2 (and later) works with IE Tab? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! - Bob

I recently downloaded the IE Tab extension but I am having some issues with filtering sites properly. As I understand it, you can make a website filter so that anytime you load a specific URL, it will automatically load in an IE Tab. I want to make this the case for all addresses file:///*
I tried adding this to the filter tab and now when I load a local drive address, the tab it opens in is gray and never changes. If I load the same address in a firefox tab and then click the icon to switch to IE, it works fine. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG? Is there special syntax for using local drive addresses in the IE Tab Filter?

Hi Ngamer, things seem to become tight now: "Coral IE Tab" has been discontinued so far due to strategic missfit with mozillas strategy and IE Tab shows severe problems with the latest FF. So my impression is (might be wrong..), that the Mozilla Foundation tries to knock down the IE rendering add-ons... But as long as IE has proprietary technology available and FF does not provide sufficient alternatives (ActiveX, SVG, XVL, ...) an Add-On, like IE Tab is an ABSOLUTE MUST, if FF wants to move forward with it's success story. Hi all, so does anyone have an idea, what Add-On will most-likely provide IE-rendering even in the future, in line with Mozilla's strategic direction? Cheers, HM

I guess if embedding browser engines inside Firefox is no longer allowable, I don't see any IE Tab replacements happening. You'll either need to open the IE browser manually (when necessary) or use an add-on called IE View that will open links in the IE browser.
That's right... IE View doesn't embed the Trident engine within Firefox, it just opens the IE browser while the Firefox browser idles in the background. Then after the IE browser loads, it then opens the link that was passed to it from IE View in Firefox.
