Webmail Compose "Mailblocks" URL

Post by FastGM3 »

I'm trying to get a "Mailblocks" URL to work as good as the provided. Unfortunately I have spent more time than this one webmail account may be worth. Anyone else up for the challenge?

Here is the "Mailblocks" site http://app22.mailblocks.com/MessageList.aspx

Here was my effort, it generates an error message. However my address appears in a new message, the only problem beside the error message is the fact the To field does not propigate.

http://app22.mailblocks.com/compose-mes ... eld=To&To=^T

I have tried it several ways, and always with my account logged in.

TIA,
Chuck

What is WME?

"WME" is apparently the way I type "WMC", when I am trying to abbreviate WebMailComposer. Maybe I meant "WebMailcomposEr"? :)

Sorry for the typo if it caused anyone to look for some other mystery extension.

I'm glad it is reported and that it isn't just an issue with order of installation or something. Thanks for the information.

WebMailCompose prefs panel problem

Post by jwilkinson »

I'm having a problem that the prefs panel for WMC is only showing the top settings and isn't resizable. This is with Mozilla 1.7, on win2k, with the orbit 3+1 theme, v1.7, with a current WMC (as of today anyway)

I put a screenshot up here
http://www.wilk4.com/misc/webmailcompos ... 040816.gif

Am I the only one seeing this?

Is there some fix?

(email to jwilkinson AT mail.com if necessary)

thanks

Yes, sorry about that. 0.6 will fix that.
Sorry again, I only tested it out on the suite with high resolution.
I'll post back when 0.6 is released.

WebMailCompose Prefs Panel Issue - a sigh of relief...

Post by jaroclay »

Thank you jwilkinson for asking the question and to you jedbro for your quick response. I, too, use the Mozilla Suite (v1.7.2) and thought my profile was screwed up after installing this extension. Thankfully, I checked here first and saw that it was a glitch in the extension. What a relief as I just recently had to restore my profile. Oh, I found that it doesn't matter what theme you use - the prefs panel still gets cut off.

This is one handy extension. I was able to setup my yahoo account, so I use it for that account only right now. One of the best extensions available for Mozilla in my opinion.

Thanks again. I will keep my eye out for your post that v0.6 is ready to go.

Take care...

OK, I quickly re-organized the Prefs Panel so as it would fit ok in the Mozilla Suite prefs.
Since that was the only change, and not worthy of a whole new version, I've released 0.5.5 :)

*NOTE* If you useing an older version in Firefox, please use it's update feature instead.

Let me know if that works for you.

Cheers

do the prefs not change when you click ok? do you need a restart?

I changed the context service path for mail.com to
http://adsfree01.mail.com/scripts/mail/ ... composeto=^T&subject=^S&body=^M&cc=^C&bcc=&B&compose=1

(for the subscription/adfree version)

and it's still using the old value
http://mail01.mail.com/scripts/mail/Out ... composeto=^T&subject=^S&body=^M&cc=^C&bcc=&B&compose=1

(going to try restarting now... ;-)

I tried the mailto link on www.sabucat.com.

I have it set for Gmail on left click. Left clicking doe nothing. Right clicking and selecting GMail brings up the compose window but the To: field is [object HTMLSpanElement]

This has happened with earlier versions for me. I figured I'd report it here.

Okay, I just tried that link mailto link on www.sabucat.com and WebmailCompose does not work for me at all.

After I installed it Paste and Go stopped working so I reinstalled that.

Odd, doesn't work for me either, I'll have to check out the code on that page and see what's breaking it.

Is it working ok for everyone on other pages/links?
Thanks

Great work

I have a bit of an issue though....

My webhoster uses a non standard webmail interface, and after hours of trying I cannot get it to work with this extension, as much as I want it to.

So, here's what I propose:

Contact me at daven@davensjournal.com
I'll set you up with an email address under my domain for testing
You can help me figure out how to put the string in so that it works with this extension.

If it can't or doesn't work, you keep the email address if you want it.

jebro,

I changed the code on the page(better css use) so now it works. The link was link &lt;a href="mailto:blah@blah.com"><span class="copy">blah@blah.com</span>&lt;/a>

The span seemed to mess with your extension.

So the problem is fixed on this site but you might want to see why that broke it. Someone else may use a span like that?

Thanks for the extension!
