Re: DragIt 0.2.0 [2009.04.02]
Unfortunately, it prevents Firefox default drag&drop to work well: I mean, if I drag text into an area like "quick reply" of this forum, text is not put in this area.

WFM, watch:

^ that was dragged&dropped.
Some other exts. conflict?
Or do you mean the new 'Drag gesture'? that one i don't know, didn't try.

For me Drag and Drop of text works well. When the dragged text is hovering over a text field the cursor changes to a text cursor and can be dropped. Also the tooltip is disabled as long as the cursor is over the input field.
Can you describe your problem in more detail.

You both have understood my problem. Except it seems it works for you. :/
When I hover a text field, tooltip is disabled, cursor is "normal select", but when I drop, instead of putting text in this zone, it does the command from preferences.
I guess it's because I use a nightly build.

Re: DragIt 0.2.1 [2009.04.08]
It seems this version caused me troubles. When I drag&drop ONE word (not two), it does NOT respect what I have settled in options: instead of searching in foreground tab, the selected word is used for a new URL (http://www.example.com) for active tab. :/
Good news is, drag&drop in text field works.

I tried to reproduce this effect but failed. For me everything is working well.
DragIt has a hidden built-in feature. If the selected text is formatted like a URI (e.g. it contains 'www.') then it will be handled as a link. That means the link action will be used instead of the text action.

Re: DragIt 0.2.1 [2009.04.08]
I've just tried on a test profile. This weird behavior appears in 0.2.0; it was not present in 0.1.7. Again I think it's because i use a nightly.

Re: DragIt 0.2.1 [2009.04.08]
Very useful extension. But with DragIt Firefox sidebar doesn't work properly: right mouse button click doesn't select focused element. This problem was tested on different versions of Mozilla Firefox with different languages (including official en-US Firefox 3.0.8) under different versions of WinXP. Bookmarks, history sidebars, dozens of extension that work only in sidebar: work with them mostly impossible when DragIt enabled.
There are examples with DragIt 0.2.1 and clean Firefox profile.
Bookmarks - clean Firefox (left), Firefox with DragIt (right):
History - clean Firefox (left), Firefox with DragIt (right):

Re: DragIt 0.2.1 [2009.04.08]
You documented the problem very well! So it was really easy to reproduce it.
This bug was introduced in version 0.2.0 with the new drag gestures (i.e. drag while the right mouse button is pressed) . It's due to the way DragIt is capturing the mouse buttons.
For the upcoming version of DragIt I've already prepared a fix for this one.
Meanwhile you may disable drag gestures via turning off 'Extra-Enable drag gestures.'. Restart Firefox. You will loose 'Page'-gestures but get back full sidebar functionality.
Thanks for your effort!
