Hehe, okay. :)

Edit: Hey, should you update the title of the thread...?

I updated http://mozilla.doslash.org/infolister/i ... r-0.9c.xpi with a version that handles unicode characters better when displaying and uploading. Now things like Console² and Microsoft® DRM should display properly.

A version for FF 1.07?

Post by BrewMeister »

Hello Asqueella,

I just downloaded the latest linked 0.9c extension, however, it refuses to install in my Firefox 1.07 install. It claims it only supports versions up to 1.05? Is this correct? And when might we see a version for 1.07?

Thanks

http://mozilla.doslash.org/infolister/:
There are different versions — for 1.0 and 1.5:

* InfoLister 0.8.2 works in Firefox, Thunderbird, and Nvu 1.0 (has some quirks in Nvu).

* InfoLister 0.9c works in Firefox and Thunderbird 1.5.
Firefox: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9pre) Gecko/2008052316 Firefox/3.0pre (mahowi) ID:2008052316
Thunderbird: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9pre) Gecko/2008052904 Thunderbird/3.0a2pre ID:2008052904

Am I missing something?
Both say they work with Firefox, and neither says a version number for Firefox. So I assumed the newest version would be the one to go with, I have no idea what version Thunderbird is at, as I only used Firefox. If the intent is to say that version 0.8.2 is for use with Firefox, then why does version 0.9c list Firefox?

Yes, you are. :P Read it again. InfoLister 0.8.2 is for Firefox/Thunderbird 1.0, and 0.9c is for Firefox/Thunderbird 1.5 (which is currently in release candidate stage).

0.8.2 is for Firefox 1.0, 0.9c for FF 1.5!

Got it, thanks.

Just an FYI - For the non-insider, it is not apparent that a version 1.5 of Firefox exists. Since that version is a release candidate it is not listed on the Firefox download page, suggestion:

There are two versions of Info Lister available.

Infolister 0.8.2 works in version 1.0+: of Firefox, Thunderbird and NVU.
Infolister 0.9c works in version 1.5 (RC) of: Firefox and Thunderbird.

Just my 2 cents.

Thanks again,

IMHO, it's obvious that 1.5 is not the same as 1.0 or 1.0.5 or 1.0.7. I updated the homepage though.

Unfortunately, my inbox says otherwise. The main confusion is 1.0+, but plenty of people seem to think that 1.0.5 = 1.5, and thus 1.0.7 > 1.5...

I would not refer to that sort of mistake as *thinking* - rather, a lack of thought leading to that erroneous conclusion....

i can no longer use the xml + xslt output given at the beginning of this thread. i used it before i upgraded firefox to the 1.5rc1, and then i upgraded infolister to 0.9c. the info page stopped working, so i uninstalled infolister and reinstalled it. then i redownloaded the zip file and set up everything once more. still no dice. when i go to the abou:info page, this is the plain text i get (on my screen it's all bunched up at the top so it just looks like one long blurb):

I think it's because the format of the XML is changed slightly. The XSLT needs to be tweaked to take the additional <infolister> root element into account.
