I know that opening up another video in the playlist always auto played for me. Is this normal? Should a video opened in a new tab not auto play?yochaim wrote:from the titanic link in msn right click on the boeing in the playlist on the right and open it in new tab. i get it autoplaying in the latest nightly...
EDIT: the weather.com link works fine but if i open new tab from the playlist under the video it will autoplay...

Re: [Ext] DblClicker & KillSpinners & FlashStopper & Add-on
any new tab is a new video object/s (flash/html5) so if FS is effective on a site it will always stop video on new tab for the site. if you keep browsing the the site in the same tab some sites will reuse the video object (as in youtube) so FS will not stop it... and you have an option in FS to make it work like in youtube for any site!

hi streetwolf,
do you have the same (big) issue with nightly (http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic ... #p14723054)?
it is related to the ublock workaround which seems not to be an issue any more so i'm considering taking it out and uploading a new version...

Re: [Ext] DblClicker & KillSpinners & FlashStopper & Add-on
UbO was never the issue. It was the fact that I tuned off flash not realizing that the ads were using Flash according to what you said. So I guess you can upload your new version.

i was talking about the (ancient history) problem with UBO from http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic ... #p14311127 and the discussion before...
i'm trying to understand if you're experiencing the issue of autoplaying new tabs in nightly (since it can be a temporary state i'm a little reluctant to remove the UBO workaround which will fix the problem)

You're talking about opening up links in external programs, right? This is working as it should. Did your workaround change any of the files in the flashstopper folder in my Fx profile? If so what did you change so I can see if I still have it in one of the files.

Re: [Ext] DblClicker & KillSpinners & FlashStopper & Add-on
the workaround was implemented in the e10s version years ago (literally - v1.2.6b2) and worked fine till this nightly. i just need you to check if the problem i describe above in the last nightly is effecting you too. if that is the case i will upload a new e10s version without the workaround (since it is the cause of the new problem). after that (and you getting the new version) it would be helpful if you could check that both (new tabs autoplaying, opening external link with UBO in the toolbar) issues are fixed.

Re: [Ext] DblClicker & KillSpinners & FlashStopper & Add-on
So there are two issues.
1. Opening up links in external programs. This works fine.
2. After playing a video that is prevented from auto playing, other videos on the banner will auto play thereafter as on weather.com. This still occurs.
If this is it then send me your updated version. Does it fix #2?

2. not on the same page (or banner/object). in nightly when multiprocess is enabled (check about:support) if you open new tab from the playlist (at weather.com for ex) it will autoplay.
don't you experience this?

You're correct on #2. Opening a video in a new tab causes it to play automatically.yochaim wrote:2. not on the same page (or banner/object). in nightly when multiprocess is enabled (check about:support) if you open new tab from the playlist (at weather.com for ex) it will autoplay.

Just installed b4 and both issues are no longer issues. All works as it should. Videos opened in a new tab do NOT auto play anymore.
I might have asked this before (probably did) will FS work under Web Extensions?

Re: [Ext] DblClicker & KillSpinners & FlashStopper & Add-on
Hi yochaim.
It appears that videos that are on Twitter do not play unless I click on the Pause button, then click on the video screen. Without FS they play right away. To be fair, another add-on I use, Tampermonkey, also screws up Twitter videos but in this case they won't play at all. Just though I'd mention this. So disabling both FS and TM produces Twitter videos that play correctly.
Example.... https://www.neowin.net/news/the-emoji-m ... er-trailer. Play the teaser video. Videos directly on Twitter do the same thing.
Running FS e10s-1.4.2b4 on Fx53 Nightly 64bit.
Getting the following messages in the browser log.
Content Security Policy: The page’s settings blocked the loading of a resource at self (“script-src https://twitter.com http://localhost:* http://localhost.twitter.com:* https://*.twitter.com https://*.twimg.com https://vine.co https://*.vine.co”). Did some more testing. I get the above messages even when FS is disabled. They appear when I go to the page with the video not when I play it. With FS disabled the video plays fine but I still get the error messages. I don't know if this has any bearing on the problem.

Re: [Ext] DblClicker & KillSpinners & FlashStopper & Add-on
hi,
the problem is that the click on the play button doesn't synchronously calls the video.play function so it is not detected as a user click (this is also the case if you'll set media.autoplay.enabled = false and not use FS...
it is a general issues with players for (ex jwplayer which is specifically handled to prevent this problem & http://www.aol.com/video/)
this is the embedded video origin https://twitter.com/EmojiMovie
p.s FS adds play menu item to the general context menu if there is a covered video element, so you can use to start the videos on twitter
i'll try to think of a general solution
