Hi Yochaim,
Are you not planning to port FlashStopper to WE at all or you are waiting for missing APIs?
Thanks

Based on the lack of response, I am assuming that you will not port FlashStopper to WE and you are not waiting for missing APIs/you did not apply for any.

Instead, you created Chrome extension AutoplayStopper:
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/deta ... fpkknnebdh
which can be also used in Firefox thanks to Firefox extension "Chrome Store Foxified"
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... -foxified/
which versions are available for many Firefox versions including FF57:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... /versions/

Thank you for answer.

If I can suggest something. Did you consider to put this information on the website with your addon
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... shstopper/
in section "About this extension"?

Something similar was done for other addon Session Manager:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... n-manager/

Not a lot of users of your great addon knows about it (also about mozillaZine discussion site), and website with addon is probably the best place to inform them about changes.

Elhem Enohpi,
yochaim wrote:the issue is that nsIStyleSheetService.loadAndRegisterSheet does not work dynamically.
since fs removes and adds the content.css when disabling/enabling (also editing the script or installing) it does not work until restarting ff.
i was still able to get it working again (in ff56 but not in 57) when closing all tabs then opening link in new tab from about:newtab.
rechecked this...
you need to leave only 1 xul tab (in 56 this can be about:newtab but in 57-59 something like about:addons)
then open html page and fs will work again...
don't know why this happens, but let me know if it works for you.

i'm aware...

https://blog.chromium.org/2017/09/unified-autoplay.html
https://sites.google.com/a/chromium.org ... o/autoplay

hopefully after chrome will enable the "Document user activation required" autoplay policy by default sites will start to handle correctly the rejected play promise which breaks a lot of sites currently...
btw mozilla aligned with chrome (regrettably) and changed the functionality of media.autoplay.enabled to release all videos on the page after first user interaction https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.c ... 382574#c33

Hi yochaim,

AutoplayStopper seems to not block autoplaying videos on INN.co.il (Arutz 7). An example web page where the video isn't blocked is: https://www.inn.co.il/News/News.aspx/361485

Start scrolling down the page, and the video starts autoplaying.

This appears to be the same both in Chrome (latest stable) as well as the latest Firefox (using Chrome Store Foxified).

Many thanks!

hi ShintoPlasm,

this is caused by a weird glitch (site & add-on script) and would be fixed in the next version.
it can be fixed on your version but it demands a little technical know how & fiddling so let me know if you're interested...

Nah, I'm happy to wait for it to be fixed. Currently blocking all those videos by URL using uBlock Origin. Thanks for the clarification!

Hi yochaim,

I can confirm that the glitch on INN.co.il is now fixed with the latest update (using FF). Thank you!

@ShintoPlasm,

(appreciate greatly the follow up...)
that was minor, the major improvement in new version is related to html5 videos opening in new frames (like embedded twitter) not requiring an extra click to play. ex. http://money.cnn.com/2017/12/23/technol ... unch-trail (but please notice the ff known csp issue https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1426272)

@Robert Ab

do you get automatic add-on updates in waterfox? the correlated fs version is also out...

Hey bud...

Trying to get the latest version of APS at the Chrome Web Store using Chrome Store Foxified but I get the previous version. Any ideas how to get the new version or do I have to just wait a little bit?

don't know why this would happen since it was released on the 31st (v1.2.2)
anyways as usual the version with the ff modified handler is available at newversions.zip.
btw did you encounter any issues with aps on the latest ff builds? in ff it doesn't get injected to all the pages but i made some hacking to improve that in the latest version...
