Cool

sfgate was not in the list but why not .. . as for http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseb ... -1.1857015
the big video frame in the middle of the page says the videos not available, wait a few seconds and another video is played auto suggested .. . but i don't see the point in fixing it
since i realized nydailynews in the big video frame & not the right little video frame on tpp, uses various players from various sources .. .

please don't forget the previous list, there are many music sites that are still untreated, & there are more chances i put music videos in background tabs than news.

Heads up on this one....

1050049 – Whitelist XBL bindings that may be applied to untrusted content causes videos not to play with Flashtopper enabled.

FWIW... Flashblock has the same problem.

Here is the way to fix things as quoted from 1052480 – Add-ons Flashblock and FlashStopper conflict with Bug 1050049

"You need to add bindToUntrustedContent=true in any binding that gets applied to content, and all of the bindings it inherits. It should be a simple fix - let me know if it's problematic for some reason."

hi streetwolf,

thanks for the heads-up, will check when 34 hits aurora...

btw - stumbled upon your post: viewtopic.php?p=13694195#p13694195
I use an add-on called FlashStopper which will prevent HTML5 Youtube videos from automatically playing. You have to place youtube.com in the Proactive Blocking List in FS.

which made me a bit concerned (especially after WildcatRay supported this view) since FS should stop youtube flash/html5 out-of-the-box (actually proactive blocking doesn't stop youtube at all) and i really don't want it to require user configuration!!!

can you test that on clean profile FS v1.2.2 ? (as you probably know you can set player type at: http://www.youtube.com/html5)

thanks

Since I am running with the patch that 'breaks' FS I can't test out my using proactive blocking of YouTube. If you could show me where to place that parameter mentioned in my bug report that will 'fix' the problem I can test out the Youtube issue for you. Unless it's a lot more complicated to fix.

yochaym.

v1.2.3 of FS works fine now. I removed the proactive blocking on YouTube and the videos don't auto play.

streetwolf,

thanks for the info...
also i've updated the v123 (in http://www.byo.co.il/Download/newversions.zip) to include the latest handlers* if you're interested...
(*this version main improvement is handling jwplayer without proactive blocking, see examples above...)

hi delicacy,

i'm releasing new FS v123, i've uploaded handler file to the usual place, also you'll need to change extensions.flashstopper.replaceregexp in about:config to '((?:^|\W|is)\w?auto_?(?:play|start|run)\w*?["']?\s?(?:[(=:]|value=)\s?["']?)(true|1|!0|null|(on|yes|y)(?=["'&]))(?=\W|$)' (no quotes)...
this version should stop 14 of the 18 sites on your list (including purepeople, bubblare) and will show thumbnail if the player setup includes one (rutube needs proactive blocking the rest should work as is...)

since you don't have the same code i'm not sure everything will work on your version.
let me know if you have any issues

Hi yochaym, i installed v1.2.3 & the latest handler, then modified extensions.flashstopper.replaceregexp, not a single page from my last url list shoed blocked flash videos

then, i tried reinstalling v1.0.0 with the latest handler, & modified extensions.flashstopper.replaceregexp, still as requested, & still no videos were blocked.

there must be an issue somewhere, or you haven't tested them .. .

I'm still on pale moon v24.7.1

hi delicacy,

uploaded tweaked FSv101 with the handler & config included. this version works for me on FF31 (stops 14 of the sites).
http://www.byo.co.il/Download/flashstopper101&h123.xpi
reset extensions.flashstopper.replaceregexp
best if you can test it on new profile (if not do restart for FF)
if there is problems please test also youtube, dailymotion & bbc for reference...
