Silvermel and Charamel - Themes for Firefox and Thunderbird

Post by ShareBird »

Hi people,

Because Silvermel and Charamel are technically the same, i guess it will be better to discuss both themes in just one thread.

Silvermel:
Current version: Silvermel_2.0.0
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... silvermel/

Charamel:
Current Version: Charamel_2.0.0
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... /charamel/

Cheers

Cool! Thank you! :) but I see a lot of gray parts from Silvermel in Milkway. It is like a mix of both.

Yes. There are indeed a lot of elements from Silvermel in it. Or something I simply forgot to work on :-)

You need to work on that something (s) no offense, but that theme looks like an unfinished Silvermel with white parts in places that makes no sense. I am a fan of your work, but this one looks unfinished to called it a RC.

Anyway thank you for your great work and effort :)

Kudo, Milkmel was an experience I did for a friend of mine a couple years ago. Some other friends liked it and used it for a while. I've abandoned the project, because it was not really my choice (I think Charamel is the most beautiful one, thanks lux, and I use Silvermel) and was really difficult to find a good contrast for it... I was very skeptic to release it (and now I quite repent to have released it at all), because I know it's not so good and I'm afraid it will never be. Maybe I will remove it...

Ok thank you for the explanation and I think you should remove it if you are not going to work on it anymore and leave it as it originally meant for just friend. You are right Charamel is a great theme, but so is Silvermel so keep the good work and thank you once again for your great work and effort.

OK.. I've removed it. I really don't have the time to work on it. Maybe on the future...

Thank you.

I tried to search but didn't find the answer...

I'm using Silvermel on Thunderbird 2, and extension Contact Sidebar. And MouseOver highlighting of its icon seems not to work correctly : It has highlighted background but change icon to another one with less width, hence moving all panel.

Thank you.

I'm unable to reproduce this problem. Actually I've made a "silvermelisch" icon for it... Which Silvermel and Compact Header versions are you using? Maybe another extension causing this problem? Are u using Enigmail?

I noticed new icon and it's great.
The first thing i did was to turn off all other extensions, but the glitch stayed anyway. I'm not using Enigmail, and i don't know what is Compact Header, but i haven't extension with such name. If it will help i can attach print screens.

PS contacts sidebar is seemed to be quite popular, and it appears to be that only I have such a problem. So reinstalling thunderbird probably can solve the case, but ...

Sorry, I mean "Contact Sidebar" instead of "Contact Header" (I'm actually working on issues with the "Compact Header" extension :D)
Reinstalling Thunderbird will probably not solve your problem. Most of the problems are on the profile...
Before you go to create a new profile, please test with this build:

This is compare of "idle" icon (left) and MouseOver icon (right): Image

I tried new build but it didn't help. (This prtscreens are made on it). Haven't tried yet to create new profile.

PS I have a suggestion about theme. PopUp Messages don't have distinct border and on bright background (for example, list of emails on Thunderbird or any other white screen) one can't say where it ends. This is the only flaw I've noticed so far.

New profile didn't work out too.

I'm using 0.7.1. Gonna try old ones...

Strange!! I am using the same add ons and version (contact sidebar 0.7.1) and all is fine, maybe you should list your other add ons and anything else that you have done to modify TB interface so the author can help better.

@ Sharebird the background is gray when selecting an extension or theme in the extension window in the Charamel theme.
