More than a month have passed and I have to ask you again to do something with this visual bug. The S4E developer described where the problem is and advised:

Just a note here folks. Don't demand things from folks who are providing you neat things for free as a hobby. Both ShareBird and Bluefang are providing these things out of the kindness of their hearts. When they both have enough time on their hands at the same time this might or might not be solved.

I use both. This isn't a big deal.

I like this theme for Thunderbird.
But only one thing prevents me from donating.
I'd like to change the default color of the message pane from grey (F6F7FF) to white or very light grey.
I've messed around with CSS files in the jar etc, but had no success.

I don't suppose you could point me to the files in the .xpi where I go change this...or is it also a png that has to be changed too?

Thank you.
A cold brew awaits you. :D

Hi Snazzle.

This is a image of the message pane

Where you like to change the colour?
or is this the wrong pane?

You can made this with Stylish Add-on and some line of Css Code.
It is not necessary to make changes to the Theme himself.

Hi Endor;

Actually, it is message pane in T-Bird's main window.

I'll have a look at the add-on you linked to.

Thanks.

Hi Snazzle
Which version of Silvermel are you using, the last dev Version of Silvermel or the last finale Version 1.55?

After the installation of the Stylish Add-on add this cod as a new Stile in Stylish:

Code: Select all

@namespace url(http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul);
@-moz-document url-prefix("chrome://messenger/content/messenger.xul"){

#messagepanebox {background-color:#ffffff !important;}

}

I have set the colour to white.
I hope it works.
Cheers

I'm using 1.55 on Thunderbird 17.0.5.

I gave it a try...and it kinda does something.... :-k
It changes the color of the border around the message pane, rather than the message pane bg itself.
(I experimented with different colors and that was the only thing effected. I also tried it with all my other extensions disabled.)

The message pane bg color acts somewhat strange whether Stylish is enabled or what theme is used.
In Silvermel, when I open Thunderbird, the message pane is grey, and stays grey as I click folders in the folder pane.
However, if I select a message, the pane displays the message content on a white background. (as one would expect)

But, from then on, the message pane stays white as long a Thunderbird is open.
It reverts back to grey on restart. #-o

This happens with the default theme as well, except it's a light blue color.

It seems like the property that controls the message pane background color is deeper in the theme CSS?

Thanks for your help.

Hi Snazzle

Open the Code in Stylish and replace
#messagepanebox

with
#messagesBox
or
#threadContentArea
or
#threadPaneBox

I hope one of this works.

My Message Pane looks like this:

I don't have the Area you mentioned.

AHA!!
YOU GOT IT!!! =D>
Ausgezeichnet!
Danke! :mrgreen:

Are you the Silvermel developer?
I owe you a beer either way. :wink:

Try the Application Menu and then Options-->Layout-->Message Pane.
(I use Thunderbird this way because I'm lazy about opening messages in tabs.) 8-[

If I get a lot in my inbox, I toggle the pane off/on with the Message Pane button in "Toolbar Buttons".

Thanks again!

Hi Snazzle.
Fine, I am happy, that it works now.

No I am not the Theme developer. I just like to help when I am able to help.
I know ShareBird, the Author of Silvermel and Charamel, from his German support Thread
at the Camp-firefox.de Forum. I make a lot of testing for ShareBird there.

I wish you a nice weekend.
Cheers

Ah, I see.
Well, since it's now working the way I want, I made my donation to ShareBird. 8-)

I wish you a nice weekend.

Well, if I ever make it out to the forest moon or Deutschland, I'll drop you a line.

When the address bar (the Awesomebar) is placed on the titlebar (using Personal Titlebar), the central (address) part of the address bar is not styled. It has the gradient background of the titlebar instead of white (or, correctly speaking, it has transparent background and thus the titlebar is seen through).

Looks like the following:

Image

(Silvermel 1.5.5, Silvermel and Charamel XT 1.5.5, Personal Titlebar 1.0.20121204, Firefox 21.)

My own temporary workaround is putting

Code: Select all

.urlbar-input-box { background-color: #fff !important; }
in Stylish, but that is of course very primitive.

Greetings and Salutations!

I am writing because it does not seen to me that the SSL indicator under theses themes seem not to display correctly. When I click the icon and look at the page info it states that the SSL page is encrypted. For example I am an extensive user of G-Mail and Google Search and I utilized the SSL feature in both. Including Google Dashboard and the Page Info says it is utilizing an encrypted SSL page of 128-bit, but the lock icon displayed is an unlocked and red colored lock. Why is this indicator being displayed when the page is in fact 128-bit SSL encrypted? This seems to happen only under Google sites, mostly. When I goto my bank, college virtual campus, or other webmail sites the lock indicator is a green locked lock. Any suggestions as to why, please? I know Google is encrypted when I use my mobile application, G-voice, GMail, Search, etc.

Thanks.

Cheers!

Hello, And thank you for your Silvermel theme! I use it exclusively.
My question is there any way to widen the vertical scroll bar in FF 21? I used the registry edit to widen it in Explorer, Thunderbird, etc... but that has no effect on FF.
I'm using Windows 8 Pro.

Hi,
i'm new here.
I'm using Charamel theme since the last year but since about the release of thunderbird 17 i'm experiencing a changed behaviour of labels in the header of email..
In the past when i assigned one label (or more) to an email i got the color of label in the raw of email but also i got the name of labels highlighted with their color in the header of email or in the compact header using that extension.
Since some months ago and even with the latest release 1.5.5 of Charamel i can get no more those highlighted labels in the header but they appears in a basic color of Charamel .. the text in a kind of grey and without any highlighting color so you can not notice at glance..

is it possible to fix this problem? i tried other themes and of course the ugly thunderbird default theme but the labels appear highlighted correctly.

thanks
Dimitri
