Those were the settings for the tab stacking and tab grouping, you can experiment which combination is best suited for you.
Show me your settings in about:config for the features that I shown.

I would suggest that you set exactly as I shown.

Thanks.
The only one I really need was extensions.tabutils.autoCollapseNewStack = True and extensions.tabutils.colorStack = False
It still stacks them but tries to unstack them but can't properly.

When might we be seeing Firefox 11 compatibility? I love Tab Utilities, and would be more than happy to contribute, IF we could do something about this having to wait a week for TU functionality every time we see a new FF version (which seems to be about every 2-3 months over the last year).

For now the only option for Fx11 is to use the development version of TU.

No, they are still stacked, as you can to see the [-] little button that marks the first tab of a expanded stack. It's a alternate look used if you disable the coloring. Use "Unstack stack" in the submenu for to destroy that particular stack.

There isn't a global preference for to disable the whole stacking features. I think that the closest is:

  • Verify extensions.tabutils.autoStack to false for not to trigger the automatic stacking of new tabs.
  • Hide the "stack tabs" action from the context menu creating the boolean preference
    extensions.tabutils.menu.context_groupTab
    set to false.
  • Change any mouse action related to stacking that you can to have set before.

Still is possible to create a stack dragging a tab over another. It's a pain, if you ask me.

EDIT: Bug report.
In linux, Fx 11, the twisty icons aren't displayed. I fix this changing some paths via userChrome.css :

Code: Select all

window[v6="true"] .tabbrowser-tab[group-counter]:not([group-counter="1"])[group-collapsed="true"] .tab-twisty {
  list-style-image: url("chrome://global/skin/tree/twisty-clsd.png") !important;
}
window[v6="true"] .tabbrowser-tab[group-first]:not([group-last]):not([group-collapsed="true"]) .tab-twisty {
  list-style-image: url("chrome://global/skin/tree/twisty-open.png") !important;
}

I cannot get open new tabs next to current tab to work. I have it set to "all" but it's not working. All new tabs open at the end of my tab string but related tabs open next to the current tab. I have attached a screenshot of the TU options panel.

Can someone help me?

Sorry I was not clear before.
My extensions.tabutils.autoStack is set to False.
However when I drag a tab onto another tab it still stacks them together.
I have set extensions.tabutils.autoCollapseNewStack to False which Auto collapses new stacks.
What I want is to disable this Stack feature.

And I think I answered that. In short: no, you can't.

Tab Utilities Options » Tabs » Tab Opening » Open new tabs for: Adress bar unchecked. If it doesn't work, maybe other extension conflicts wih TU. You need to find the culprit.

are there any plans to give Tab Utilities the ability to indent vertical tabs (a la Tree Style Tab)?

if Tab Utilities could at least read and display the Tree Style Tab indentation from saved sessions, then i would be able to stop using Tree Style tab (i have many saved sessions with indented tabs).

just the other day i noticed that i could ditch the standalone Faviconizetab add-on because Tab Utilities could understand the Faviconize information stored in session files. thank you very much. please do the same for Tree Style Tab.

thanks for the Tab Utilities add-on,
david

It was discussed a time ago, see Add Tab Grouping function like Tabkit, specially the earlier ithinc's comments: No plans of to add trees support to TU.
