Tab stack is the only thing keeping me with Tab Utilities.

TMP also lacks options for tab closing - with TU you can focus unread first, then last selected and that's a huge plus for me, plus i don't like the idea of a session manager built into TMP

Me too. And TMP developers do not want to implement tab stacking for some reason. I created a suggestion thread about it a couple of times and all those threads were ignored.

Installed FF 22 and am getting "Open Selected Links in New Tabs[]" on the right-click menu. Can't figure out how to disable it. Also seeing "Tab Fg Bg" links in green on the status bar. They don't seem to do anything when clicked. I went back to FF 21 and the problems are gone, so I guess I'll wait.

try these in about:config...

extensions.tabutils.menu.context_newTab
extensions.tabutils.rightClickNewTabButton
extensions.tabutils.shortcut.key_pasteAndSearch

if that doesn't get you what you're after, just search about:config (prefs.js) for...

extensions.tabutils

You need to patch the latest 1.6pre4 with this code: viewtopic.php?p=12935699#p12935699

Or downloading the patched version posted in that page of the thread.

I would like to STOP upgrades until tab utilities is supported.

I ignore the upgrades. But then I had a look at help About Firefox and that forced an upgrade.

Is the code for tab utilities freely available? Can ithinc's next of kin (assuming reports of his demise are true) be contacted?

Sure is, as is the code for all extensions... just download the .xpi and open the file with a zip utility. Or copy the one you're using and take it apart.

I just registered so that I could post in this topic.

Exactly!
I hope this rumor does not transform into reality. After all ithinc is not my relative nor my friend but he/she really did make my life so much easier for so long. Wish him/her the best "wherever" that may be.

timtak wrote:Okay, thank you e.alimonda, I will try Tab Mix Plus.

Been there. Done that. I'm just arriving (home) from that trip. :(
I don't want to go that way. TMP lacks features in TU and has session manager embedded. I mean, session manager is itself an addon for goodness sake. Very bad taste if you ask me.

timtak wrote:I am not aware of any noticeable upgrade in Firefox functionality for a long time. If there are, then I hope that Tab-Utils code is incorporated into the main branch.

Exactly my line of thinking. TU shouldn't be an addon. IMHO every decent browser should do exactly what TU does.

BTW, can Tab Utilities be used on FF 21.0 under linux. Yesterday I installed it, it shows under installed addons but FF acted as if TU wasn't configured/installed. Arch Linux with FF installed with pacman -S firefox.

@john3voltas - was everything broken, or just some things?

if the latter, did you install the version linked to in this thread? (look around pg. 163/164)
