Just tried your add-on and played with options, but make it "Open Bookmarks in New Tab". Always opens in current tab. I've been been using following extensions and each one does open in new tabs always. Could you please clarify.

Extensions:
Open Bookmarks in New Tab 0.1.2009100801 (6Kb)
Super Tab Mode 1.53 (66Kb)
Tabberwocky 1.1 (40Kb)
TMP dev build (464Kb)
Note: Size of add-ons in parenthesis

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.3a1pre) Gecko/20100118 Minefield/3.7a1pre

@NJKR:
Thanks for your trying this new extension. Could you provide detailed information about your installed extensions and userChrome.js scripts? You'd better disable the bookmarks-related extensions/scripts to test it. You may also create a new profile to help locate which extension it conflicts with.

Thanks for quick response!
Links do open in a new tab from bookmarks and Bookmarks Toolbar.
I use bookmarks script(chrome://browser/content/bookmarks/bookmarksPanel.xul) and links always open in current tab from this withTab Utilities 0.5, hope you can fix this.

Other Extentions I mentioned in previous post, open links in new tab from bookmarks script(chrome://browser/content/bookmarks/bookmarksPanel.xul) as well - hope this extention also can be made capable of doing the same.

Extensions:
Autohide 1.8.0
QuickRestart 1.1.6
Tab Focus 1.0.6

my userChrome.css:

/* If you want to always hide the star, no matter what, use this code */

#urlbar-icons > #star-button
{
display: none !important;
}

/* Display the Tabbar at the bottom */
#content > tabbox {-moz-box-direction: reverse;} */

Oh, I see. You must have opened chrome://browser/content/bookmarks/bookmarksPanel.xul in a tab or window, but not in the sidebar. If so, it will be fixed in the future releases.

That would be great and I am looking forward to the fix. IMO with the fix "Tab Utilities 0.5+" could become one of the best among Tab related add-on s. "Tab Utilities 0.5" is light and already incorporated Tab closing options (Close Left Tabs, Close Right Tabs......) - With other/some Tab add-on s I need to use "Removetabs 0.2.1" for that functionality.

Done, fixed in version 0.6.

Thanks again for the great extension :)

This project started from last April as an userChrome.js script. As more features were added, I decided to publish it as an extension for more people to use. It will be maintained until its features are obsolete.

That is great.
There used to be one great add-on Tabbrowser Preferences 1.3.1.1 which was maintained by Bradley Chapman up to mid 2006, after that users had to find replacement.

Yes we did and a lot of us moved over to Tab Mix Plus which was great for all the FF 2.0 versions but then started getting bloated. I just switched from TMP to Tab Utilities today and am VERY happy that I did. TMP is a great extension but has gotten to the point where updates take too long and there's too much buggy behavior.

I installed 3.6 final about 12 hours ago and installed TU just a few minutes later. Just so happens that I've been programming all day and still going so I've had a lot of time to evaluate today and only really one real complaint as follows.

I have noticed that tab switching is very sluggish with the mouse. If I click directly on a tab's favicon then it makes the switch on the 1st click. However if I click on the text in the tab many times there is no switch and I have to click again. However, when using CTRL 1-9 to switch through tabs it's blazing fast. It would be great if the mouse clicking could be so responsive.

I've changed configurations various times for the delay setting for the Left Button On the Current Tab setting using various values from 0 - 450 and the behavior didn't change.

So I tried to remove any possible conflict by changing the Left Button on Current Tab setting to Do Nothing and making Double Click on Tab Session History Menu but that didn't change anything.

I have the Mouse Click checkbox unchecked and while that helped obviously the problem remains.

Seems that the extension hesitates in a way with the mouse while not with the keyboard.

Otherwise...I have to say, wonderful job :)

Let me just update that after playing with the settings some more and applying I still didn't see much improvement.

After restarting the browser however there's a major improvement. Still not as good as keyboard switching...but it's become a lot closer.

@neromadrid:
Thank you for your report. Have you tried uncheck "mouse click to select"?

Sorry I missed it.
About the "tab no switch" problem, do you have an always-reproducible example?

btw, click on favicon or text should have no difference.
