I got confirmation that he passed away

So, somebody must take over this project to keep it alive anyway.

Multi-row tabs of 1.6pre4 doesn't work anymore with FF22, so I reverted back to FF21.
If TU is not going to be updated anymore, does any of you know of a similar extension that can trigger the multi-row tabs?

thanks!

See here, the great work of blackwind. So far it works fine.

Really tragic if it's true about ithinc. :/

It's good that we have hacks to fix Tab Utilities on FF22, but if no one steps up to take over the add-on's maintenance then we are all browsing on borrowed time. TU has been totally screwed in several months' worth of Nightly, for example. So unless someone steps up we need to find as viable an alternative as exists, a search which, based on my last survey of tab add-ons about six months ago, I expect to end in disappointment/compromise.

Any ideas?

How does one apply/install the great work of blackwind?

Either the code or this download.
http://www.mediafire.com/download/vw86gwu1saw11ka/tab_utilities-1.6pre4-fx.xpi

ANSWER open the xpi file using Firefox file (menu) open (or perhaps simply drag and drop onto Firefox)

Is it really true that
I got confirmation that he passed away
?

I should have donated.

Any Ideas?

Tab Mix Plus
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/tab-mix-plus/
and
Super Tab Mode
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/super-tab-mode/

Are recommended by the developer.

I find Firefox to be useless without at least a multirow of tabs (I can only see about 10, I keep 40 open) so this would be the end of Firefox for me. (Back to Maxthon?)

Well, Tab Mix Plus allows a multi-row tab bar from what I see (Display -> Tab Bar -> When tabs don't fit: Multi-row.) I prefer the TU addon, but TMP can still be a fallback option without losing too much functionality.

Really sad to hear those news about ithinc, if it's confirmed...

TMP's lacking `tab stack' would be a huge impact for users getting used to it in TU. As for the other features, they're alike.

Okay, thank you e.alimonda, I will try Tab Mix Plus.

It is sad though. I would like to be able to stay with Tab-Utils and not have it destroyed with each "upgrade." I am not aware of any noticeable upgrade in Firefox functionality for a long time. If there are, then I hope that Tab-Utils code is incorporated into the main branch.

it's simply crazy that FF doesn't have the multirow tab embedded in its code, I just can't believe we have to pray for the maintenance of a SINGLE extension! :( but that's how it is..

Have you tried the patched version of the extension? Multi Row tab works like a charm at least on Firefox 22.

Thing is, there are other tab add-ons, but I have yet to find one that does vertical tabs half as beautifully as Tab Utilities.

I will be looking anew in the near future, of course, out of necessity.
