Re: [Ext] Load Tabs Progressively 1.6 - load tabs one by one
Just noticed I had: "Options - General - Startup - Don't Load Tabs Until Selected" checked......un-checking that did the trick. Guess that's the same as: browser.sessionstore.restore_on_demand ?

Re: [Ext] Load Tabs Progressively 1.6 - load tabs one by one
Hi there,
there's a conflict between "Load Tabs Progressively" (LTP) and "Redirector". Some pages which have been redirected with Redirector have a problem when Redirector is installed together with LTP. The problem occurs when I try to open links in a new tab from "MyEbay" for example (I redirect some messy eBay URLs to cleaner versions of themselves in order to get a nice distinguishable tab title). The correct redirected URL shows in the URL bar but the page itself stays blank and I have to manually reload it by clicking enter from within the URL bar in order to see any content (Firefox' reload button doesn't work in this case). Only disabling LTP solves the problem. I tested this in a clean Firefox 11.0 profile with only Redirector 2.7.1 and LTP 1.6.1 (and 1.6.2pre) installed.
Maybe the author or someone can share his/her ideas on that.
Thank you very much

Re: [Ext] Load Tabs Progressively 1.6 - load tabs one by one
This has been an indispensable add-on, but with its' incompatibility with Firefox 20 my working day has become that much more painful.
I frequently need to review the majority of links on a hub page and I have macros to open them all. This add-on ensured that they all loaded completely and I was able to start reviewing without having to wait an age or have my connection and browser completely clogged and unusable.
I look forward to seeing an update soon.
cheers, Mark

Re: [Ext] Load Tabs Progressively 1.6 - load tabs one by one
Read somewhere.?
Firefox 20 has implemented new tab features (icons, webpage size, borders, .i.e..), but,, this new feature broke my LoadTabsProgressively [Addon]
• Solution: = Disable New/Firefox (20.0.1) / Tab Features
• and default Tab behavior = [Tab Killer 1.1.2007042501] ..
It is obvious the people at Mozilla.org were ignorant to a proven fact, that this addon improve their product 100%, by increasing page loading (individually) for a faster and better Firefox.
Instead, we have a Firefox (20) that very slowly loads Three (3) tabs simultaneously:,,,
and “if” java scripts on webpage are involved the very slow speed is embarrassing.
Good News:
Loadtabsprogressively (0.9.9) / “Working” in Firefox 20.0.1 version @ 97%
“Must have” / Extension:
• Tab Killer 1.1.2007042501 = [Disable Firefox Tab Features]
• MozBackup = [Restore / backup {profile} ]
• Memory Restart = [ features ability to correct old memory leakage issue]
• Tab Mix Plus 0.4.1.0 = [features the ability to use “session restore”]
• Nightly Tester Tools = [features the ability to disable add-on compatibility checks]
• checkCompatabilty 1.3 = [Reinstate th extensions.checkCompatabillity /Preference]
• Customize About:NewTab = [Change Firefox default =Home/Page]
• LoadTabsProgressively “ 0.9.9 “ (1.6 will not work)
Note: Back-up Profile
And / Or = Create new profile
In Firefox:
Uncheck The following
1. Launch Firefox/ about:newtab>Customize /About:Newtab (Clog Wheel)>”Uncheck” Make about:newtab my home page (Turn-off).
2. File>Options>General> Homepage /about:newtab
3. File>Options>Tabs> Upper Panel: remove all check marks ecept for When I open A link_switch to .. / Lower Panel: Radio Button =Never
4. File>Options>Advance>Data Choices> remove all check marks
5. File>Add On> Extensions> Tab Mix Plus>Session>remove checkmark “Use Firefox’s built-in Session restore feature”.
6. Confirm: Preferences (about:config):
•
• browser.tabs.insertRelatedAfterCurrent = false
• browser.tabs.closeWindowWithLastTab = false
• extensions.tabsopenrelative.includenewtabs = false
• network.http.keep-alive = false
• browser.sessionstore.restore_on_demand = false
•
Note:
“I do” have Loadtabsprogressively (0.9.9) / “Working” in Firefox 20.0.1 version.!
• Option settings
o Max # /Concurrent = 1
o Max # Unread = -1
o Next Tab load = Last Tab
o Auto-reload = Uncheck
• = Default Theme / with User Styles scripts
• = No other addons installed: _ that effect Browser-Tab behavior._
If anyone knows of any thing not included in this ..? Please post to addon page and / or here in this forum so that I may have LoadTabsProgressively working at 100% ..
... TY

Re: [Ext] Load Tabs Progressively 1.6 - load tabs one by one
Hi muggle, thanks for the post. Unfortunately when I tried to install Tab Killer it was blocked as being incompatible with Firefox 21.0. Also, some of the settings you recommend changing don't exist, though I guessing that may have to do with add-ins not being there.
Hopefully either ithnic will update the add-in or someone will take it over.
cheers, Mark

Load Tabs Progressively 0.9.9 works with Firefox v21.
I have hacked the 0.9.9 xpi file so it will install in firefox 21 (and up to version 25). Here's how to install:
Uninstall existing version:
In Firefox, go to Tools > Add-Ons > Extensions
If you already have a newer version of Load Tabs Progressively installed, remove it and restart firebox.
Install 0.9.9:
Then download the load_tabs_progressively-0.9.9-fx_FF21.xpi file from:
http://www.mediafire.com/?gfb9xvf4l0ey39k
Then in FireFox, go to Tools > Add-Ons > Get Add-Ons
Click on the cog wheel icon in the top right of the window and select
Install Add-On from File...
Browse to the file you downloaded and install it.
Restart firefox when prompted then
go to Tools > Add-Ons > Extensions
Find Load Tabs Progressively 0.9.9 and click on the More link below it
Set automatic updates to Off
In firefox go to Tools > Options > Tabs and untick "Don't load tabs until selected".
You're done.
