Session Buddy is just a bookmarks manager with new UI, it can't even restore tabs in unloaded state. It also doesn't save tab history and addon-related data.
That's still useful and the I wouldn't call all the extension does "reopening closed tabs". And it's definitely better than the extension being disabled completely.

Thanks for the info. I've been dreading the move to WebExtensions for a while now, and am hating life already in the New v57 Nightly builds.
Is Michael (or anyone else, for that matter) working on making SM WE compliant / porting SM to use WE APIs / developing an alternate add-on with similar functionality?

It looks like Morac is waiting for WE APIs: viewtopic.php?p=14754834#p14754834That makes sense, Mozilla has more than enough resources to develop APIs themselves.

Thank you! I created a thread on reddit, here is an interesting comment from Firefox dev: https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/commen ... r/djt10jc/According to this comment, https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.c ... 284886#c18 both bugs should be fixed by 57. Could anyone explain, please: do these bugs make any additional Session Manager functionality possible? Thank you.
It looks to me those API's are there now, unless I am reading it wrong. If nothing else, an interim update that at least installs and allows things to partially work would be a good thing, so "early adopters" (people here) can test out for any potential issues, and have it ready to roll.

Pinned tabs duplicated upon restore "bug"
Hello.
1) With my current settings, I'm backing up upon shutdown and restoring upon startup.
2) In my current session I have 2 windows, each with several tabs and several _pinned_ tabs.
3) Upon each startup, I get 3-4 windows (instead of the 2), with the extra window(s) containing (duplicates of) the _pinned_ tabs (and no "normal" tabs).
4) This means that on each startup I need to close those 2-3 redundant windows with duplicates of the pinned tabs.
Hoping that my description is sufficiently clear and not too confusing, is there a way to avoid these redundant window(s) ?

I am new here, so forgive any unintended transgressions. Mozilla upgraded me to 55.0.1 and now Session Manager .8.1.13 will not load to my Browser menu bar, even though it is enabled through the Mozilla Extensions page. Has anyone else seen this...has Mozilla disabled Session Manager in this version? Is there a way to launch Session Manager without the menu icon in the browser? Thanks.

See if there is a "Session Manager" item under the menu path Tools->Options.

There is a session manager item at Tools, Add Ons, Extensions. It is enabled.

No, I'm suggesting you might find an entry under the Tools menu for the Session Manager itself, not for the list of extensions.
