[ext] Screengrab update
Hi. I have released what I'm going to call Screengrab! version 1.0. I spent a few days on it and fixed some bugs and added some features I think people will like.
I have a project page on my website where you can read all about it: http://www.seanster.com/screengrab/
There's more information, source code, diff's, and links to other screengrab resources.
Here's a direct link to the version 1.0 xpi file. http://www.seanster.com/screengrab/screengrab-1.0.xpi
You should remove your old screengrab before installing this one.
A sample filename with all current datestamp options enabled:

Here's a shot of the new options dialog to entice you:

It wasn't until after I did all my work that I discovered some Russian dude recently resurrected it on AMO. I grabbed that code and merged his fixes into mine, so it's as up to date as you can get.
I'm running FF 15.0.1 and I have tested it on FF 16. I'll consider other improvements if they are worthy but I don't have a lot of time and can be easily distracted. I have other things to do.
Here's a quick summary of changes:
Added & exposed more options.
Added elite new date stamp formats of my own personal preference.
Fixed & exposed the jpg quality option.
Fixed & exposed the "status bar" icon enable/disable.
Fixed and reinstated the "toolbar" icon.
Fixed stripping invalid characters from the filename (for windows at least).
Logging options visible and working.
Added ".jpg" as a file extension option.
Option to default to download folder
Screenshot counter
Other fixes I stole but don't fully grasp.
Other fixes I forgot about.
I would appreciate feedback. I suggest you post here but you can email me if you like. I added a fair amount of English help text (EN-US) so the localizations are all out of date. Feel free to contribute new localization files.

Re: [ext] Screengrab update - looking for testers
Be aware that there is a change in Firefox 18 that you will need to address to maintain compatibility:

Tip of the day: If it has "toolbar" in the name, it's crap.

Thanks for the heads up. Looks like no big deal. They are always breaking things anyway. If it's not this it will be something else. In the future I'll either update the extension or stop updating firefox.

I hear ya. I gave up on theming after 4 years because of it.

Re: [ext] Screengrab update
I have received Chinese language localization files and they will be in an upcoming 1.01 release.
I am also considering optionally saving another file of the same name as a .url internet shortcut for the page that was grabbed. That's got to be easy to do. If anyone knows how I can prepend, append, or overlay the page URL in the image itself or add it as exif data, please get in touch.

Is there any connection with this add-on? Screengrab (fix version)

Yes, that's the 'Russian' dude I referred to in my post. I took most of his changes and merged them in with mine. This is more clearly stated on my website and in the plugin contributor list.
I have a diff of his code versus 0.96.3 on my website. He hadn't changed much and there was no explanations but it looks okay. More importantly it works.

I'm unable to find any diff code on your site.

Re: [ext] Screengrab update
It's the first thing listed under "resources"
http://www.seanster.com/screengrab/source
for example
http://www.seanster.com/screengrab/sour ... 6.8c.patch
I just sorted out the issue with the Chinese translation and will post an updated version soon-ish. There's no code changes so I won't bother with a diff.
I wouldn't mind supporting automated updates but the documentation seems weak and it looks like a lot of trial and error needed to get it working. For now people will just have to look here or on my site.

Re: [ext] Screengrab update
Well, this does not save images to disk in FF18. Same problem that Screengrab (fix version) now has in FF18. Both still work saving to ClipBoard. Bummer. This, too, is now no better than ALT-PrintScreen really. It goes through the motions but just doesn't save anything (at least not where I am telling it to).

Re: [ext] Screengrab update
I noticed it with FF17. I don't like one of the new changes and I have kept with FF15. Will fix it eventually, been busy travelling.
