[ext] Private Tab (no restart)

Having the button of PT before the new tab button, if you disable PT, both
buttons disappear (when they are not visible real tab bar buttons).

Also this should happens for any restartless extension with toolbar buttons.

Brilliant plugin! One request though which is important for me: Could the "new private tab" button of the latest version become somehow optional? I don't want or need it there by any means, is there something I can do to hide it without losing the rest of the functionality? Again thx for your work man!

There is two buttons (because of limitations of browser's API): normal button (that can be added/removed using built-in Customize Toolbar dialog) and special button after last tab (should be visible only if normal button placed directly after tabs or after "New Tab" button, that placed after tabs).
So, did you have "New Private Tab" button added using Customize Toolbar (and where you add it)?
If "New Private Tab" button isn't added, but button after last tab is visible, this is probably conflict with some another extension or style.

I think it's a conflict of sorts, as I'm talking about the button after the last tab. It wasn't there before the last update so, I'm not sure what conflicts with it. Tab mix plus perhaps? I haven't added it via the customize menu so it must be a conflict. Any suggestions to troubleshoot? Thx!

edit: disabled tab mix plus, but it's still there. When I try to customize the toolbar the new private bar button disappears and so I can't drag it out of the toolbar so, it's still there.

edit 2: Never mind, I disabled all my addons and reenabled them and it's automagically fixed! Thx!

Also some bugs may be fixed using re-customisation of tabs toolbar: change anything, press OK and then restore desired buttons/order and press OK again.

Also there is not yet fixed conflict with Tab Mix Plus:

Non-private window -> new Private Tab -> any page with non-link URL (text) in content -> double click it

Will open the URL in non private tab. Should open in private tab, because owner is a private tab.

Can be solved?

Hi! First of all this is a great add-on. I think this should be default on Firefox.

I have a problem, maybe it's not a problem I should change some settings from about:config so I want to ask it to you. I used this add-on last 2 days and It was awesome but today when I press ctrl+alt+P firefox opens normal tab, not private tab. When I press ctrl+alt+v it changes to private tab. I checked from about:config and there it's written that extensions.privatetab.key.opennewprivate tab is control alt VK_P. How can I solve this? I reinstalled the addon but the problem is still exists. Thanks for help:)

Strange, this is probably conflict with some another extension.
How this works on new Firefox profile? If works, you can try to temporarily disable other extensions to detect conflicting one.

Also please provide information from about:support page.

And set extensions.privateTab.debug = true in about:config, open Error/Browser Console (Tools - Web-Developer menu or Ctrl+Shift+J), press Clear button, press Ctrl+Alt+P and show me all errors and messages about Private Tab (you can just type "private" in filter field).

I tried on new firefox profile and it works! However later (i installed my other addons) it turned back and the problem had continued. I guess you're right, most probably there is a problem from other extensions, let me try to disably one by one. Here is the about:support data

I found it! Facebook purity- Cleans up facebook 8.8.2 is doing the problem! It's very interesting that they have no things in common but it makes such a problem! Thank you so much! I will use firefox without that extension then

Alternatively you can install the Greasemonkey script version of FBP

Please note: Running both script and extension version of FBP at the same time will not work, so please make sure you just install one or the other. The Greasemonkey version and the Extension version of FBP have the exact same functionality.

Install F.B. Purity - GM Script

First you need to have the Greasemonkey addon for Firefox. If you don't already have it, you can get it here: Greasemonkey
Once you have Greasemonkey installed and running you can install FBP by clicking the "Install F.B. Purity - GM Script" Button above.

Undo close tab doesn't work as it works in 'Default New Private Window' of Firefox. I think each 'Private Tab' is a 'New Private Window' in itself.
Anyway can undo tab history can be mantain until atleast one 'Private Tab' is open like sharing undo tabs history list between different tabs open with 'Private Tab'?
