Hi, Aris.
I have noticed a small graphical bug on FF53 (CTR 1.6.5 b7).
When using Light compact theme and enabling Grey background for unknown and Chrome pages (URL bar - Page 3) it seems like background overlaps with top Border (hard to tell about the bottom) of the URL Bar.

Could you take a look at this?

I don't know it anybody reported yet: when compact theme (light or dark) is chosen, window commands (close, restore/maximize, and close button) are not visible.
It looks like this (in the upper right corner of the browser): http://i.imgur.com/unsjmJL.png
I am using Firefox 53.0 (32-bit) on Windows 10 (version 1511).

I hope it can be fixed until the next release.

Install CTR1.6.6beta1: https://addons.mozilla.org/addon/classi ... sions/beta

Why did you not update Windows 10 to v1607 last year or to v1703 yet?

Thank you for quick answer.
Sorry, I somehow forgot to check the latest beta CTR release.

I didn't upgrade to v1607, because I had been reading on the internet that some people had troubles while upgrading it. And others said that Win became clumsy and slow after the upgrade. So I simply deferred upgrades, because it works fine currently.
I am going to upgrade directly to v1703 in the coming days. Thanks for info anyway! :)

Aris, with the last beta 1.6.6 beta1, Firefox 54beta1 and Windows 10 the pinned tabs are bad to view.
Previous CTR beta version works fine.

Hello Aris,

Code: Select all

.tab-label {
  -moz-box-flex: 1 !important;
  text-align: center !important;
}
How do I exclude "Connecting..." (i.e. I'd like to have that string default-aligned in all locals)?

Thank you. I'd appreciate your help.

I have trouble with the Location bar's Autocomplete popup since FF53. They seem to have 'fixed' the 'visit...' functionality somehow:
1) I type 's' -> autocomplete fills in https://slashdot.org, popup lists 'Visit slashdot.org' followed by some search results.
2) I press Escape and then type 's' again -> popup lists 'http://s/', then 'https://slashdot.org' with a star icon indicating a bookmark, and some search results.

When I use CTR with the option "Remove 'Search with...' and 'Visit'", this makes the desired result disappear from the search listing entirely in case number 1. Because Firefox merges the two results. I am not sure but I think FF52 would show it twice, because I have not had this issue until now.

Some about:config preferences for location bar have an impact on how autocomplete popup gets treated by Firefox (showing or not showing some items or filling or not filling content automatically). CTRs option is only for browsers default settings so either test Fx53 on a new profile or make sure some or all of these preferences are set to their default values and rerun your tests:

browser.urlbar.autocomplete.enabled;true
browser.urlbar.autoFill;true
browser.urlbar.autoFill.typed;true

All three are at their default values. And I'm not complaining about url bar text autocomplete. What bugs me is that the bookmark search result I want does not show up on the list unless I jump through some hoops. This happens when the bookmark url is the web root and therefore identical to the suggested autocomplete; bookmarks with a more complicated url do not have this problem.

Have you read pages 335 and 336 where a similar problem was discussed?
--> http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic ... #p14742577
Any chance you can test Fx & CTR on a new browser profile?

I don't know what I should tell you other than what I posted above. I tried a clean profile and got the same behavior. Visit... consumes the bookmark when it points to the same path. This happens with or without CTR, CTR just makes it worse by also removing the Visit... link, making the page disappear from the search listing entirely.

Do you need detailed reproduction steps? You haven't acknowledged the behavior yet.

CTR does exactly what it is supposed to do according to your above description.
"This happens with or without CTR, CTR just makes it worse by also removing the Visit... link".

If you enable the option to remove the "Visit..." item, then CTR does what you have chosen. I suggest not to use that CTR option, if you want to keep that "Visit..." item.
