Re: [EXT] Torrent Tornado
Can someone please answer a couple of questions regarding the Torrent Tornado Extension for Firefox:
1. Is there a way to control the bandwidth of outgoing torrent traffic (number of connections, max speed, etc...)?
2. If I use a VPN Firefox Add-On, what IP address is used by Torrent Tornado? The proxy or the one assigned by the ISP?

when you use system VPN or socks (such as proxifier) - all connections trough VPN/SocksHenryk79 wrote:2. If I use a VPN Firefox Add-On, what IP address is used by Torrent Tornado? The proxy or the one assigned by the ISP?

The settings allow "download" speed.
What about "upload" speed?

Re: [EXT] Torrent Tornado
The torrent clients that I use (uTorrent) simultaneously download and upload file "pieces" of the torrent files.
Are you saying that Torrent Tornado does not upload any pieces? It only downloads?
So, TT never "seeds". Is this correct?

Does that also mean that peers do not receive any data from MY Torrent Tornado?pag77 wrote:for current version - yes - only download without uploadHenryk79 wrote:So, TT never "seeds". Is this correct?
BTW.
When I look at my network usage, I notice that I have considerable amount of upload data.
I expected to see a reduction in my upload amounts when using TT compared to a Torrent client (eg. uTorrent)
Instead I see an increase.
Using uTorrent, the upload/download ratio is 5.5%
Using TT the ratio is 7.7%
Can you explain?

Only your IP, torrent client Name, torrent infoHenryk79 wrote:Does that also mean that peers do not receive any data from MY Torrent Tornado?
in the protocol, there are two ways to download the torrent:Henryk79 wrote:Using uTorrent, the upload/download ratio is 5.5%
Using TT the ratio is 7.7%
Can you explain?
1. random data as they become available (most torrent clients)
2. The step by step from the beginning
Tornado uses the second method. This allows you to use the files without waiting for the full download of torrent.
For example torrent has a lot of pictures, you can view some without waiting for the entire download torrent
For example, you can start watching a movie when he downloaded only 50%

Re: [EXT] Torrent Tornado
perhaps there was an error in saving the torrent of data
1. Go to the menu Help -> Troubleshooting Information (or enter about:support into address line) and then click the Folder Profile - Show folder button. With sufficient rights you will see all folders and files of your profile
2. search dir: s3torrent
3. quit from Firefox
4. remove dir "s3torrent"
5. start Firefox

Is there a way to prevent my Windows 10 system from going to sleep while Torrent Tornado is downloading?

cannot see "View the source" link near/after "what's this" and "Source code released under Mozilla Public License, version 2.0" on your addon's version history page - is there any other place where source code can be found?pag77 wrote:https://addons.mozilla.org/addon/torren ... /versions/Thunderpig wrote:Also, do you have plans of opensourcing it?
