I don't like where the new one is going; it obscures the FF page (lower RH corner)! :-( I prefer it in the add-on bar please?
Win 10 Pro desktop, but now 64-bit latest Windows 10. Usually latest or latest-1 Thunderbird on this machines.

The statusbar/addonbar is missing in new versions of Firefox.
The current version of Forecastfox is the version for the new API: WebExtensions (supported Firefox and Google Chrome)

WebExtensions not supported "statusbar/addonbar" from xul-addons like as "Addon-bar restored", "Status-4-ever" , etc

And all Xul-addons is die in Firefox 57 (November 2017)
https://blog.mozilla.org/addons/2017/02 ... ilestones/

So forget about the xul-version, there are a few months left before the complete destruction of all the old add-ons...
Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for understanding!

I don't know why we have to remove the add-on bar now, but I have just turned off/removed forecast fox completely !

Paul Allen
Sorry, I think I'm confused...
Do you want the bottom panel to be displayed when you hover over the icon on the toolbar?
Or do you want to replace the umbrella in the bottom corner of the site by the weather icon and temperature?
walkerpbus wrote:I don't know why we have to remove the add-on bar now
The original status bar (add-on bar) was removed from Firefox in version 29 (May, 2014) and all existing addons that emulate that bar are coded using XUL.

The suggestion is that the bottom panel to be displayed when you hover over the icon on the toolbar

The would be no Umbrella in the bottom corner, as it would not be needed.

it's impossible :(
WebExtensions not supported this feature
toolbar button - it is only for click. only for left click mouse.
no middle click, no right click, no over mouse - only left click.

All the problems of Forecastfox WebExtension should be solved after toolbar API gets a green light: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1215064

Do you really think that they will instantly do something they did not pay attention to for two years? :)

Oleksandr

When I hover over the button I get a tooltip showing my selected location, current weather conditions and current time. I think what Paul Allen is asking is whether it is possible for that tooltip to be expanded to include the same data as shows when the cursor hovers over the umbrella symbol.

If that could be done, the umbrella and associated information display could then become an optional extra for those who maybe need a permanent display of the data and not be shown for those who need the maximum display of any web pages.

Paul will no doubt correct me if I have misunderstood him.

You've got it. There is one thing that would make it even better for me. In the top line you have the weather condition ("Sunny"). Is similar text available for each of the following lines?

You really are a star for all of your hard work.
