IE Tab, open IE-only pages in "embedded IE"
Hello,
I developed a plug-in for Mozilla/Firefox which can facilitate browsing of IE-only pages.
This plug-in works with a modified version of the famous Firefox extension called IE View.
IE View let the users open IE-only pages in Internet Explorer automatically or manually,
but you have to launch a separate window of Internet Explorer, which is not convinient.
So I developed IE Tab, embedding Internet Explorer in tabs of Mozilla and Firefox.
This can achieve some degree of integration of different engine, Mozilla gecko and IE, just
like what Netscape 8 does.
This plug-in, however, won't works on its own. It depends on IE View extension.
The orginal released file has some bugs, but now
these problem has been fixed.
Here's the new installation instruction:
1. Install IE View extension from Mozilla's official extension site.
2. Download the plug-in installer provided by Softcup.
(Right click on the link and use "save as", or the xpi
file may not be correctly downloaded.)
http://forum.moztw.org/download.php?id=2087
Drag the downloaded xpi file into your Mozilla window
and it can be installed.
3. Find "ieview.jar" installed by IE View extension. Normally this file is located in your profile folder or the folder where Mozilla/Firefox installed. ieview.jar may be located in a hidden folder. Use "find file" provided by Windows to find out where ieview.jar is.
4. Replace the original ieview.jar with the modified version provided by Dexter. The file can be downloaded here:
http://forum.moztw.org/download.php?id=2079
5. Launch Firefox and enjoy the plug-in.
IE Tab was a new plug-in from Taiwan.
We highly appreciate the author of IE View extension.
Thanks to the development of free software and Mozilla,
the work done by the people from different countries can
be easily joined together and give us better lives.
The source code is released under GNU GPL. Feel free to
modified and redistribute it as long as you obey GPL.
I don't know how make this kind of installer into a xpi. Can someone help me?

I installed according to instructions though I was unsure if I needed to install the .dll's in the plugins folder or in the ietabs sub folder. But I still have IE opening not a new FF window
I am not knocking your work! I appreciate it and think this could be a great extension once it is working. I hope someone can help you pack it into an xpi.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.8b4) Gecko/20050727 Firefox/1.0+ - Build ID: 2005072706

Works now and looks good. I had real problems downloading from the http://forum.moztw.org/download.php?id=2079 link and in the end had to use IE to do it. Having said that, when I exited Firefox, it crashed, so it may have been an FF problem.

Working good for me. Thank you.
A small thing. With url's added to the always load with ie in the ieview options panel when that link is clicked now opens a new tab but I have to click the reload button to get the page to load right.
Is anybody else seeing this?
Thanks again for your time and effort. It is appreciated.
Edit:
A little update to above info.
It only happens when I middle click a bookmark to open in a new tab. I have new tabs set to load in background. Don't know if that means anything.

i think it is easier to install,
1) install http://forum.moztw.org/download.php?id=2087
it will install npieview.dll and IEView.dll in your plugin folder.
2) then install my modify xpi file,http://forum.moztw.org/download.php?id=2096
3) restart firefox
right click > "view this page in ie"
