IE Tab, open IE-only pages in "embedded IE"

Hope this is the right place to post this:
I'm finding that ANY page running shockwave causes a Shockwave crash if 'flipped' into IE. I've reinstalled Shockwave from the standalone installer for both IE and Firefox, works fine if you test in IE directly but not if you start in FF and open the page with IE Tab.
Thanks

Luckily, there is generally no reason to load pages containing shockwave objects in IE in almost all cases.

I've been getting the "not a valid install package" error a LOT lately on 1.5b2, even with already compatible extensions (it's happened on Tab Mix Plus with both the 0.2.5 and 0.2.5.1 upgrades in the past 2 days). Either downlaoding from a different source (fast version, on extensions I can do that with) or restarting Firefox (the 2nd thing I try) has always fixed it so far.
Oh, and the first XPI is technically a plugin, not an extension, so it naturally shouldn't have that sort of problem, nor does it even have the maxversion issue at all, so it will install in any version without any workarounds at all.

It sometimes pays to look inside the download...

i think it is easier to install,
1) install http://forum.moztw.org/download.php?id=2087
it will install npieview.dll and IEView.dll in your plugin folder.
2) then install my modify xpi file,http://forum.moztw.org/download.php?id=2096
3) restart firefox
right click > "view this page in ie"
enjoy;-)
The original files still work (with a bit of maxversion tweak. It would be nice if the ieview.jar were brought up to current)

I don't think that is a new version, as that thread was started on 18 August, over a month ago, and just quotes jasonhk's post of an old version of the extension.

Oh yeah, I do believe the "not a valid install package" issue is a glitch with the direct XPI installer of some sort. Save and open in Firefox on the same XPI from the same link all of 2 seconds later seems to always work.

Maybe using this technique http://labs.insert-title.com/labs/Multi ... le795.aspx it is possible to create more advanced extension for developers to switch between multiple versions?

Mainly... or entirely... because I was bored, I uploaded my repacked XPI file for this extension which installs directly in Beta 2 to my website. Actually, there are a couple other slight modifications I made... but they are so slight that I forgot what they even were.
Oh yeah... there was one major one, I did a makeshift integration of the plugin install, so this should be should work on its own without another XPI. However, I've technically only tested this on 3 computers with nearly identical setups. Also, I basically threw it together as a random hack job for no real reason in a few minutes, so it should be thoroughly full of bugs, but, the interesting thing is, I haven't seen any. Then again, that's just me.
But still, if you're afraid of your computer bursting into flames, yeah, maybe stay away from that thing.
P.S. It's only in a ZIP file because Tripod does funny things to it if it isn't, and it's only in a page because Tripod doesn't allow direct linking of files. And I'm too lazy to go sign up for a proper file server.
