It's still there in 2.7.9.1 on github (even though the latest at Mozilla is still 2.7.8).
Latest version is now on Mozillas Thunderbird add-on page too.
In case someone is curious about this add-ons future or what happens when the upcoming Thunderbird 68 releases: CMB won't be updated anymore (read OP for more info), but most code got moved to CustomCSSforTb project.
I wonder how Aris feels about someone asking his permission to adopt his extremely popular CMB add-on and updating it to make it compatible for TB68+.
 Also, I wonder how much it would take for Aris to reconsider updating CMB for TB68+.  Politicians and Diapers must be changed often for the exact same reason...
