[EXT] MySessions (session manager)

Post by CromS »

The main task of this extension is to save sessions at any cost. As a repository, browser bookmarks are selected as the most reliable and secure storage.

Please note that in the Firefox version of this extension to resolve tab icons the following service is used: http://www.google.com/s2/favicons?domai ... L_of_a_tab}.
We don't collect cookies, password, e-mails or any other confidential info.
Only domains (not full URLs) of the websites visited (if you allow) and nothing else.

You can import your sessions from the "Session Manager" from Michael Kraft https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BspF2LhngDs

This extension uses bookmarks. If you actively use bookmarks, this extension messes your bookmark search.
The extension does not work in a private window, but a private session can be saved from a regular (non-private) window.
I repeat: this is not a replacement for the "Session Manager" from Michael Kraft. Rather, it is the Session Keeper with the possibility of their recovery.

Hi, whats the difference between the "Enable Timeline" setting and the "Autosave every 5 mins" setting? Seems like they both do the same thing?

Cheers.

Yes. They do almost the same thing. But TimeLine saves sessions in local storage, and AutoSave saves it in bookmarks.

I think I must be missing something. I have saved sessions. Now I want to restore the saved tabs. I am not seeing buttons or options, nor a manual or other instructions, offering guidance on how to do this.

UPDATE: I think I have the answer. The MySessions icon has to be visible on the Firefox toolbar. Then, when MySessions is open, click on that icon to open the menu showing the options to "Open in a new window" etc.

I had customized the toolbar to remove excess icons. I could still open MySessions by clicking its icon on the drop-down list of extensions, but an attempt to click it again would merely repeat that -- it wouldn't open the list of options.

Not sure how to insert an image here, else I would. But see the video tutorial at this location (I don't understand the URL insert option either): https://youtu.be/UgZFxV4cfuU?t=96
