Restoring the history

Post by Graf »

Hi!
Can someone help me to restore the Firefox history? after some bastard recommend me to install version 61.0.1, it deleted some add-ons, cleared almost all history (thousands of links) and changed some options for the worse part, I use Session Manager and have a lot of saved sessions, but I couldn't restore the history from them, it just overwrite the file, and it displays that there in backup copies is from 156 to 162 elements, but after it cleared the history, there was only 2 elements, tried to restore the history by closing browser and open older replaced session (autosave), but only lost 39 autosaved sessions, it just deleted it without my permission, here is some saved sessions:

I will be very grateful, if it possible, if someone can merge the history from files in that archive

if you dont have a backup you dont have nothing. stepping direct up from v28 is not good, you need some steps between such as 45esr/52esr, then v57 and last current v65.0.2 (or 60.5 esr).

it dont has benefit to stay such old. v28 is around early 2014 thus means you had 5 years time to accomplish a current build ;)

what i can give you is the option to recover sessions from a session file:

from: http://forums.mozillazine.org/memberlis ... e&u=101038

but history will be gone if you dont have a backup from eg places.sqlite.

by the way, I want to ask, what is last Firefox version that had the same look (gray colours) and preferences as Firefox 28.0 or most earlier Firefox version that should be supported by most sites (e.g. Google captcha and etc.)?
need the same look

Brummelchen, I'm just afraid that newer version will be worsen than I had, as it was many times

but I don't need to recover sessions from session file, Session Manager handles that, just is bad that I can't edit sessions (modify as I need), and better understand what real name has every session, not those that it displayed in Session Manager

I have 2 files places.sqlite, but can't open them, it wants .json files, also had sessionmanager.sqlite (65 MB archived to ~300 KB), but can't do anything with him

so that this sessions (tens of MB) doesn't contains any history?

best improvement for Firefox would be that it won't clear entered results in history after when the date changes, before it comes, any changes in Firefox will suck
