I use and like uBlock Origin. I get a message from FF that says, in part:
Ublock Origin has been updated....
It requires your permission to:
Store unlimited amount of client-side data

While uBlock Origin is very helpful, I'm reluctant to allow any program to store an unlimited amount of data on my computer; but I suspect that in this case this issue is benign.

Could someone explain to me what the request is all about?

Store unlimited amount of client-side data

you got that now? jeez, that message is rather old, 2 major builds ago now mean months.
ublock and other extensions switched to the new storage system in firefox - not sure if v60 is concerned, but v68 esr is concerned. and this is the result.

I've been getting that message for a while and just now decided to ask about it. I haven't granted that permission as I don't quite understand giving permission to any program to store unlimited amounts of data on my computer; why would anyone do that? There needs to be a limit, a cap on how much can be stored without the user's explicit permission.

Thanks for the explanatory links.
