Thank you for response.
Regarding #2, after using extension FaviconizeTab:
User adapts to recognizing picture for site instead of label. This is a problem for RSS feeds since they all have same icon. If you could implement any sort solution that would be wonderful.
I agree that favicons help users recognize a site by its "brand." But why do you need to show both the livemark icon and favicon side-by-side? Isn't replacing the livemark icon with the favicon enough?
The reason for side-by-side was to help distinguish an rss bookmark from regular bookmark.
Doing a simple replacement with favicon might be confusing. If not side-by-side icons, I would hope for some sort of visual way to distinguish the favicon as rss (highlighted orange outline, shadow, etc)
her, you're looking for something like what Opera does with it's RSS right? I know Opera does a RSS icon behind the site favicon in Opera Mini 4.2's RSS reader. That would be neat if LiveClick could attempt to do that function.
But... I think LiveClick still has the problem of Livemarks disappearing upon clearing private data which would make your request impossible, though I haven't tried a new profile...
LiveClick 0.3.6.0 is now available for download. No new features are in this update, but there are a couple of bug fixes and improved favicon handling. Also includes the new ko-KR locale (thanks cknblue!).
thanks for this great add-on. While I see that you've resolved conflicts between "LiveClick" and "Add Bookmark Here" in the past, I'm (again) having conflicts between LiveClick 0.3.6.0 and Add Bookmark Here ² 3.6.20100326 (not Add Bookmark Here). As soon as I enable LiveClick, the Add Bookmark Here ² menu entry goes away. If I remember correctly, I also had the case when the menu entry was visible, but selecting it did not bring up the usual dialog. Would you mind looking into this issue?
If it helps any, I'm using the same versions of LiveClick and Add Bookmark Here 2 without the problem you describe, eyebex. Does the problem persist if you disable all other extensions and use the default theme? Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.4) Gecko/20100413 Firefox/3.6.4
That's strange. In order to track down the issue, I've disabled all extensions except "Add Bookmark Here ²" and enabled them again until I found the one that made the menu disappear, and that extension was LiveClick. If I leave all other extensions enabled and disable / enable LiveClick, the "Add Bookmark Here ²" menu item appears / disappears. I'm using the default theme.
Do you mean the Bookmarks menu item? I was referring to the Context menu items. I have the Bookmarks menu item unchecked in the ABH2 options, so I never realized it was missing.
Edit: I've confirmed that the ABH2 Bookmarks menu item disappears as soon as LiveClick is installed. Sorry about the mix-up.
Yep, there's a conflict between LiveClick and ABH2. This will be corrected in the next version of LiveClick, though I'm not sure when that will be exactly. Currently working on 0.4.0.0, which is a semi-rewrite of LiveClick, but it looks like I'll have to release an earlier version for fixes like this.
Thanks for pointing this out. If you notice any other problems, just let me know!
