Now that I've had the chance to use the new theme I have to say I like it for the most part.

ChrisI wrote:[*]Junk = flame? Can someone please explain that correlation? I suppose the challenge is getting an icon that won't be mistaken for trash. :?
While I think it's a pretty cool icon, I'm not sure about using it for junk mail either, although I wouldn't mind throwing the lot of the spam I get into a fire so maybe it's okay.

ChrisI wrote:[*]Can we stop using a pair of glasses, for the mark icon. That's another correlation I don't quite understand. ?
I completely understand this. Glasses != Read

ChrisI wrote:[*]Use the standard feed icon for web feeds.
I don't know, I like this one.

ChrisI wrote:[*]the blue arrow for the unsent folder, looks more like a sent icon to me.
I haven't seen this one so I can't honestly say anything about it.

ChrisI wrote:[*]I think the new thread column icon is an improvement, but I still don't think it does a good job of denoting "sort by thread". Perhaps some boxes/whatever to indicate messages within that tree...
I'm guessing this is mostly for newsgroups, which I don't use Tb for anyway. Does it have any function for email, because if there is I can't find out how to use it for the life of me.

ChrisI wrote:[*]Is that a light bulb used for the online/offline switch? Again, it's an improvement, but still doesn't denote online/offline.
It took me a second to figure out what that is, but once I saw it was a light bulb I got it immediately. But then I use the online/offline icon fairly often so I was familiar with it's placement.

ChrisI wrote:[*]did the function of the button on the right of the search bar change to "refresh", rather than clear field?
There's a button on the right hand side of the search bar? I'm not seeing any in Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1b2) Gecko/20060819 Thunderbird/2.0a1 ID:2006081904anyway. Does it have any function for email, because if there is I can't find out how to use it for the life of me.

ChrisI wrote:[*]what's the reasoning for the dark blue background, in the options panel?
While I like the contrast there, the color doesn't make any sense to me, especially since it's the only place that spot color is used.

I have to point out that the arrows in the folder selection window need to be centered better horizontally. They're all the way on the left side of the button rather than in the middle of the button. Other than that I also can't wait to see it in Firefox.

If you type text in it, the button will appear. It is supposed to clear whatever text you've typed, thus resetting it.
I've filed a bug on this. It is bug 349221.

That was intentional. See bug 348966.

Ah, there it is. I guess I hadn't had to use that search box yet. Thanks If you hadn't told me that was a clear button I would have thought it was a refresh button or something. Definitely not intuitive.

I like the look of it Arvid, so is it a completely new theme from Qute? Will you be making a corresponding Firefox theme? I love to have continuity between the two apps.

I think you should keep the RSS icon the way you've done it, don't adopt the standard firefox one.

EDIT: I hope you can make a nice icon for us Enigmail peope too :)

I think the DEFAULT thunderbird theme should definitely use the DEFAULT rss icon. Remember: this is all about the users, they should be able to instantly recognize this icon from firefox, ie7, etc.
The options background color does not make sense to me.

For the rest: it looks very nice and neat! What's that font that you are using?

The background shading is confusing:

Read the last sentence of the first post :)

IMO the "standard" feed icon may not match the theme as well as the current one. Perhaps it'd still be good to use it just for the News & Blog folder (instead of the radar).
PS: I put quotes around "standard" because AFAIK it's just Firefox default icon, which Microsoft decided to use as well.

Actually, it's industry standard.

As Thunderbird 2.0 might not be released for a while, any chance we get this theme for 1.5.x? I really like it but I can't switch to the Alpha without losing my extensions :-(

erm ...?
Anyway, just set extensions.checkCompatibility to false. Most of your extensions should work.

Is there a quick userchrome.css hack to remove the alternate stripes in the threadpane? (see Dazio's screenshot above)
