Hi, I wasn't able to get any of the downloads to work in the newest Comodo IceDragon (based upon Firefox 19.0) so I edited the beta version install.rdf file to read max version 20.0 and then saved the file and put it back into the .jar file. Basically, to do this you first change the .jar extension to .zip, then use a zip program such as 7zip to open the archive, extract the .rdf file, edit with notepad++ or similar program, save, and then paste back into the zip file. Rename as .jar, and use as normal. Voila!

The main advantage of IceDragon is that it has some extra security features built in.

If interested:
Version: 19.0.1
File Size: 32.4 MB

More info: http://www.comodo.com/home/browsers-too ... rowser.php

I am very dependent upon this theme since otherwise the color scheme of IceDragon isn't what I like at the top and I don't know an easier way to get those nice lighter blue colors. Plus, it's the closest I'm going to get to having pet cats!

Remove your email address per this rule. faq.php?mode=rules#f4r4

Removed the direct link to the download because that is something that few forums are going to allow.

Yes!!! I got it working with the latest release of Firefox.

You need to go into C:\Users\XXXX\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\YYYY\extensions (where XXXX is your username and YYYY is your firefox profile)

In that folder are a bunch of files with the extension ".xpi"

Look for "{ff356687-aa08-463d-a46c-11c451824939}.xpi" and rename it with a ".zip" extension. Extract the files in the zip to a new folder called "{ff356687-aa08-463d-a46c-11c451824939}"

(or if you have 7zip just right-click menu on the .xpi file and select "Extract to {ff356687-aa08-463d-a46c-11c451824939}\")

Delete the old .xpi file, you don't need it any more.

Go into the new folder and edit the file "install.rdf" with notepad. Change "maxVersion" to "20.9" (or whatever it needs to be when you read this...) and save the file.

That's it!

nb. It also works for Green Cats ("{dd30bf68-268a-4815-ad48-8740b774c764}") and Curacao ("{cc6ef5ab-35be-4300-bd07-d12850fc97ff}")

Hacks are no longer needed! Version 5.6.1 of Red Cats for Firefox 19 and up is here at last. It's currently pending approval at addons.mozilla.org and you can install it from https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... /versions/.

I got Red Cats working again on the 1st of May and then a few days later Firefox had another update and now it doesn't work. It's Firefox 20.0.1 so it should work. It's there under Add-ons, Appearance but it's not clear to me what I need to do to get it working again.

I take it you're using the latest version of Red Cats? Try to reinstall the theme.

What happened to red cats - blue flavor and red cats - green flavor? My computer crashed a year ago and red cats wouldn't work with windows 7 and just tried to find them again and they weren't there. :(

I just installed the current updates for Kubuntu Linux which included Firefox 23. =:(

I'm going to try the procedure published back in February. I will report my results hopefully later today.

=== edit ===
I just saw the sticky about 2nd party "fixes" are not allowed -- hey, gimme a break, I haven't been on this forum for years [since Phoenix was in beta =:)]

I'm still going to try it. >^^<

Red_Fat_Lazy_Cat (if you're reading this) I hope all is well with you and that you can get a fix in soon. You may remember way back when I helped a little with testing on Linux.

I have had several PMs with LoudNoise re: the sticky in this section about 2nd party fixes. He mentioned the disable compatibility checking add-on:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... atibility/

This add-on is a great workaround. It allows you to enable the Red_Cats themes AND THEY WORK with Firefox 23!!!

Thanks, LoudNoise. 8-)
