Have you tried in Firefox:
View>Toolbars and disabling the yahoo toolbar.

also you can try in Speed Dial Options at the bottom of the window
press actions>First Time Configuration>Set as Home Page

good luck
I have uninstalled the Yahoo! toolbar and my SpeedDial home page has been restored. Now the problem is that when I open a new Firefox tab, it doesn't auto-populate with SpeedDial like it used to be. Instead, I get a Yahoo! search page. And this is _after_ I uninstalled the Yahoo! toolbar! Any ideas?

Have you got Speed Dial Options>Main>Load in Blank new tabs checked?

Yes, it is checked. But it turns out the Yahoo! search page was displayed because I installed the Grisoft Antivirus (AVG) toolbar. Unchecking the "display Yahoo! toolbar on new tabs" option in AVG toolbar's Advanced settings did the trick. I now have my SpeedDial home page back and SpeedDial auto-populates newly opened Firefox tabs. Thanks for your good ideas.

Hi
One way is to shorten the names/titles of your groups, another way is to add more rows/columns
You have 3 rows x 3 columns = 9 dials per group
I use 6 rows x 7 columns = 42 dials per group but each group can have a different setting for rows/columns.

Another way is to have more than one firefox profile
If you use this syntax at the end in your firefox shortcut "-P bri -no-remote" replacing bri with your profile name
Image

Using this method you can run multiple firefox profiles simultaneously

To create a new profile add " -P" in the shortcut

Shorten/abreviate the name/title of your groups/tabs here

I've just done another video covering Speed Dial and running multiple Firefox profiles simultaneously.

These video's are not very well done but might be helpful to you

Hello,

I've searched this speed dial forum, but cannot find an answer to my question.
I'm running Firefox 3.6.3 on Ubuntu 10.04
I've set up my speeddial groups in such a way that I can access groups by selecting a "group dial", set in all groups. I therefore no longer need the group tabs at the top of the screen (which look awful in most firefox themes). Is there any way to disable them?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Go
Options > Main > Design > Disable Dial Groups. :D

------------------------------------------------------------

I've a little request.... would be good if Speed Dial and Fission were more compatible.
Fission has an option in which I can see URL I'd visit if I make click over an object on any website.

This doesn't happen into Speed Dial.
Thanks in advance!! :D

Tx, but if I disable the group dials, they are completely disabled, not just the tabs....
Perhaps some script I can add to the userchrome?

Sorry, missunderstood.

Well... perhaps something about CSS could help (perhaps an auto-hide customization).
Did you search at UserStyles?

Hello Josep,

I had to reset Ffox preferences to sort some issues.

I imported my Speedial last settings through Restore backups and I get a successful confirmation but when I open a new tab first of all Speedial is not set as my homepage as per my preferences and than when I open a Speedial through the toolbar icon I get this error message:

"[Exception... “Component returned failure code: Ox8000ffff (NS_ERROR_UNEXPECTED)
[nslPrefBranch.getBoolPrefj” nsresult: “Ox8000ffff (NS_ERROR_UNEXPECTED) location: “JS frame::
chrome://speeddialfcontent/speeddial.js:: colorizeTab:: line 345” data: no]"

After I click OK to the error in the Speedial tab there is only the first one of my many groups and with no dials in it but just a light blue background.
If I click the Edit Groups menu I can see all my groups though.

Any way i can restore my dials?

Thank you

Ok I sorted it by myself editing the only visible tab with no dials and removing the colour customisation.
The only problem now is that I have no thumb image in any dial.
There is the hourclock spinning everywhere but the thumbs don't recreate themselves.

Is it possible to fix this?

Thank you

Hi again!!
I have another little request for you!

Could you add text-as-color-code for background, please?
I mean, values like "transparent", "DarkGreen", "LightBlue" etc.

In addition would be good to add a "default background color each dial" option.

Thank you so much!!

I am having the same problem with Speed Dial 0.9.5 on FF 3.6.3

[Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x8000ffff (NS_ERROR_UNEXPECTED) [nsIPrefBranch.getBoolPref]" nsresult: "0x8000ffff (NS_ERROR_UNEXPECTED)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://speeddial/content/speeddial.js :: colorizeTab :: line 345" data: no].

I have uninstalled, deleted SDx subdirectories, reinstalled, etc, all reaching the same result.... have been unable to reload from backup or restore settings without hitting this error. Have not been able to sort this one myself. In fact, is not clear I could recreate the slots manually without hitting this error.
