Flashblock is also on mozdev and I've been maintaining two branches (Flashblock 1.5x and 1.3x) in CVS for years. And now that mozdev is offering Mercurial as well, it is even easier to maintain multiple branches.

works for me in Tb2.0.0.16 (tabbed build, shouldn't make any difference). note that it should be

Code: Select all

  const dynamicMessagePaneBoxFlex = [1, 0, 0, 1, 0];

to also make vertical view state set properly across restarts.. the v1.4 on the homepage has been updated in place (new downloads/installs will have it).

@Phil - you're completely right. but i didn't initially set it up in cvs on mozdev (it is now) and would have to go back and it's not worth it, i'm in Tb3 mode..

I am having some problems with the new lightning and MoreLayoutsforThunderbird when I activate the extensions.morelayoutsfortb.calendar.todaypane_config.dynamic in vertical layout mode.

The Message Page no longer works (when I click on a message, nothing is displayed there). Also, the today pane doesn't have the "Today" "Tomorrow" "Soon" separators. Both problems go away when I disable the extensions.morelayoutsfortb.calendar.todaypane_config.dynamic option (even if I leave MoreLayoutsforThunderbird on).

Is this just me? If not, any chances for a fix? I really prefer having the todaypane under my folder list!

I am using thunderbird 2.0.0.16 with MoreLayoutsforThunderbird 1.4.

Thanks!

I'm having a problem in Classic View, where the mini calendar & events are totally minimized and have to be dragged up to fit, as they previously did at Thunderbird start up.

morelayouts won't be updated for Lightning 0.9 with Tb2 unfortunately. it's too moving a target, for a Tb that has a foreseeable end of life (though not short enough), it's somewhat complex work, plus i don't use Lightning. i will update for Tb3 and whatever Lightning is out when Tb3 comes out (later beta stage at least). sorry.

plus, if you're just using Classic view, you don't need morelayouts really..

I use it in classic view so that I can move the today pane to the left hand side, where I think it belongs. Unless of course It has been fixed in the new lightning

Well, I hope the new Thunderbird becomes stable soon :-) Thanks while it lasted; it seems like the lightning authors should be the ones to provide this functionality. I actually use the vertical view (which seems to waste the least space overall). Best, pk1

Does this work on TB 3.0b2?? I just downloaded version 2.0pre and installed on TB 3.0b2. When I select the "stacked" layout, nothing happens and my message pane becomes unresponsive. I am running Ubuntu 9.04 64-bit. Thanks for any info.

hmm, looks like a recent change broke 2.0pre. i will take a look once Tb3 becomes an RC (release candidate).

Cool... I just re-installed TB2 and the stacked layout is great, but it won't store the vertical width of the "folders" pane. The horizontal stays put, but the vertical seems to shrink the folder area to almost nothing every time I restart. I tried different combinations of the const dynamicMessagePaneBoxFlex setting with no luck. Any suggestions? Thx.

the layouts are designed to persist the vertical height of the thread pane, so that if you set that and switch around to the various layouts, the number of lines should be consistent. and it should also be restored on restart.

if you have something else in there (lightning, or a/b in sidebar) then that might be the issue.

I currently don't have Lightning installed. Here's what it looks like when I start up TB: http://geocities.com/yankeefan159/tb.jpg

See how the message list almost completely covers the folder list.

looks like the splitter isn't there. close Tb, rename your [profile]\localstore.rdf and restart and see. (you'll have to reset various preferences.)

Nice extension. I wish that I had discovered it sooner. I suppose that I should be spending more time on mozdev.

To bad that it isn't working in 3.0b3pre. It could be a while before we see an RC.
