Gave it a whirl in
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.8pre) Gecko/20071009 Thunderbird/2.0.0.7pre ID:2007100904

Classic view works fine , but switching views gives me this in error console:
morelayouts.js: layout changed to -> widemessage
Error: messenger.SetMessagePaneDocShell is not a function
Source File: chrome://morelayoutsforthunderbird/content/morelayouts.js
Line: 96

And the detail:
if (aMsgWindowInitialized)
{
var messageBrowser = getMessageBrowser();
messenger.SetMessagePaneDocShell(msgWindow, messageBrowser.docShell);
if (gDBView) MsgReload();
}

That's with Winxp sp2 and the following exts
copyattachmenttoclipboard 0.3
DOM Inspector 1.8.1.2
EditHtml 0.1.2 [DISABLED]
JavaScript Debugger 0.9.87
MoreLayoutsforThunderbird 1.0
Nightly Tester Tools 1.3b1
Stationery 0.4.7 [DISABLED]
Talkback 2.0.0.7pre

oops, that upload was for the custom Tb build - please use v1.1 for standard Tb2 (once it hits the mozdev mirrors).

thanks.

Yep, works fine.

As long as we are doing wishlists, I always thought full screen view would go over great for multimedia types. (Just being greedy, I guess)

do you mean expanding the message pane (collapsing folderpane and threadpane, and/or statusbar, toolbars) or just maximizing the window (titlebar max button probably best for total window resize)?

LIke the f11 toggle in FF
Minimum chrome and toolbars, maximum message pane real estate for graphics, photos etc.

sure, give this version a whirl (once it hits the mirrors). it's one line of code in Fx but a bit more complex in Tb, so let me know if it works as expected etc.

Sorry for the delay, new ISP 20 meg FIOS is being overly protective.

This works great, exactly what I was looking for.
I'll make sure all the other view options are working OK and get back to you.

I'm sure it took a lot more than a few lines of code.
You do good work, thanks a lot for taking the time.

I'm glad to have Stacked View back, but I found an error. I group my messages by date received, which makes little sections that say "today", "yesterday", "last week", "two weeks ago" & "old mail". The descriptions show up for every layout except Stacked View. The sections still show up, but the descriptions (today, yesterday, etc.) are gone. Is this something that I can fix myself? I can provide screenshots if you can't understand what I'm talking about. Thanks in advance!

hmm, if you mean the grouped description in the Subject column, with a tree twisty, then i see it working fine here on a fairly clean profile, when selecting Grouped by Sort (date eg).

try with a clean profile, then post a screenshot. i assume you're using Tb 2; it's never been tested on less than that.

Stacked View doesn't remember pane width

Post by looperstationnow »

Hi,

I love stacked view. However, it doesn't remember the width of the folder/message list pane. I drag it to a bigger size, but as soon as I close and re-open Thunderbird, it's back to a "default" width. Bug or feature?

persisting stacked view widths works for me, care was taken to make sure layouts are restored on restart. even on layout changes, threadpane heights are fixed to be persisted, along with all widths for vertical panes. try on a clean profile.

Hi guys!

StackedView Extension is cool.....but I would like something a little more like outlook 2003.

I know, thunderbird is not an outlook clone.

But I will really appreciate if you could consider an extension to display "thread pane" on 2 lines in a similar way to outlook 2003.

I mean:

Sender and date on line 1
Subject on line 2

Is it already possible ? I searched a lot on this forum and google and find nothing.

Thanks
