It hasn't been updated in two years so its dead and the chances of it working properly are zero
What sort of man would put a known criminal in charge of a major branch of government? Apart from, say, the average voter.

I see something that works with one version and not even the latest release

To automatically load prefs from /defaults/preferences/:Ulf3000 wrote: basically all prefservice stuff from the old addons doesnt work anymore , prefservice1 is deprecated and maybe its better to just replace the whole prefs with a simple jsonfile to object loade/saver instead of using prefservice2, prefs are not loaded aitomatically from the addon´s defaults folder

Yes. Maybe a subreddit.Ulf3000 wrote:it would be nice to have a community of devs who just port the best stuff to post quantum ... then we can have the best of both worlds and everybody would be happy , the few important sdk addons can be ported to either xul or bootstrapped
Posting a 2nd party downloadable "fix" is not allowed.Ulf3000 wrote:but the user above must share it to use on 57/58/59 ..
I can PM the XPI, but it has not been fixed to be "standalone", it needs the defaultExtPrefs above, which is loaded by autoconfig.js
I'm on 58.0b15 Developr Edition, haven't tested on Nightly 59.

ok that works too , you can also just copy the pref file from the xpi to firefox defaults folder then they are loaded on firefox restart ..pintassilgo wrote:To automatically load prefs from /defaults/preferences/:Ulf3000 wrote: basically all prefservice stuff from the old addons doesnt work anymore , prefservice1 is deprecated and maybe its better to just replace the whole prefs with a simple jsonfile to object loade/saver instead of using prefservice2, prefs are not loaded aitomatically from the addon´s defaults folder

yeah a subbreddit would work , discord is even better because you share code, files and screenshots , make subforums ,chat in realtime , but i can only start help in mai/june because i have so much to do for university till then ,
please send me the xpi or upload on github
edit: here i just made one
so everybody who like this idea of porting some xuladdons to firefox60 can join this channel

i dont think it will come the near future. firefox downloads are limited to default (users download folder) or another chosen location where he has rights to save files. and to answer your other questions - same - it wont be possible to alter firefox internally pages or dialogs you like to. chose another extension instead - THAT is possible (eg "Elite Download Manager". i am not that tech savvy but i almost understood most of the items there.

Fixed version (not from the original developer) working in current versions:
https://github.com/xiaoxiaoflood/firefo ... savefileto
Legacy addon, not WebExtensions, but it works even in Nightly 66, as you can see in screenshot below:
