No. Save File to doesn't add anything to URL bar at the moment.

Could this be part of the "Save Page" menu -- i.e. save page link rather than save page contents?

Isn't there already an extension that does that? https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/savelink/

Anyway, I would say that saving page link rather than the content, is beyond the scope of this extension.

Since Save File to has nothing to do pdfs directly, the cause for that probably isn't this extension.

Dear ake79,

I would like to request one feature with your add-on; when using folder with "menu" enable; hover or clicking on these will open a list showing "Save here" and 'folder list'.

Could it be made (optional?) that by clicking on the folder will do a "Save here" instead of, "Hover > click Save here"

That feature already exists, sort of.

If you have enabled "No sub-menus for empty folders" from Save File to optiops, that "Save Here" won't show up if the folder is empty (it has no sub-folders). You can just click the folder name to save the file there. Though, if folder does have sub-folders, the sub-menu with "Save Here" and folder list is still shown.

While it's possible to make it save always (optional or not) when folder name is clicked, it just isn't the way the menu/sub-menu works. In other words, it would non-standard user interface, and I don't want to do that.

Hi there, love this extension. :D

2 suggestions to make it even more "automatic":
- what about selecting the folder autmatically per extension: like RAR to desktop, SRT to "data folder" ... [right now you have to select the target folder manually]
- even better: validate the save action automatically so for recognized file extensions, nothing to do ! =D>

PS Automatic Save Folder does that, but there are glitches and the developper cant maintain it anymore (kudos though)

thanks !

Hi there,

"Save File to" is a great addon and I use it all the time, thank you. However since the recent update to Firefox 36.0 the function "Save link to >" doesn't work anymore for me. "Save page/image" is still doing it though ("file" not tested).

When I try to save a target file via "Save link to >", it enqueues that file in the download manager and keeps "searching" for it forever (moving throbber). I then cancel that hopeless download manually, but upon closing of Firefox it asks if I really want to cancel x downloads (which it shouldn't because I already cancelled them manually). After restart of Firefox it might be (sometimes did, sometimes didn't) that it resumes those "cancelled" downloads and finishes them correctly. The regular Firefox function "Save link to" with the save dialog still works as usual. For testing purposes I installed "Save File to" in a (well pretty) fresh profile, and it's the same problem. Any ideas? Thank you.
