Re: [Ext] Save File to 2.1.2 - 2011-04-02
Nevermind it must have been a glitch. It would only save to the last folder I saved to no matter which folder I picked. After a restart it started working correctly again.

ok it's not a glitch the same thing happened again. I don't know but something's not right. I should mention that it uses the last saved folder from firefox's save dialog box, not Save File To.

Can you file a bug and provide details for it here: http://code.google.com/p/savefileto/issues/list

Yes I'll file a bug but I think I've figured out which setting is causing the problem. First, just to make a correction from my last comment, it doesn't matter if I use firefox's save or Save File To, it only remembers the last folder I saved to.
The Save File To's option "Always open save dialog" seems to be causing it. If I uncheck it the files go to the correct folder. If I have it checked it the save dialog box always shows the last folder I saved to.
Can you confirm this?

why doesn't ff 3.6 have this problem? I installed ff 9 beta 2 and it didn't fix it either.

Nothing visibly new. Really.
There are a couple new hidden preferences that people have requested over the years. Some of these new features were implemented almost 2 years ago but they haven't been included in a release version until now. They have been waiting until I figured out how and if to add them in options dialog, but no progress there so I decided to just leave them as hidden preferences for now and release them.
To those who want to try and tweak things: http://code.google.com/p/savefileto/wiki/Preferences. New preferences: alternatingMenuPosition, mainMenuPosition, startDownloadOnSelect, subMenuPosition, <type>.accessKey.
Feature creep? Yes.

fyi. OPIE 4 has been released. It works ok with Save File to, so there's now a good solution to that import/export problem from earlier (issue 9).
I added an entry about it to FAQ

You would mind adding that feature request here: http://code.google.com/p/savefileto/issues/list ("new issue", upper left corner)
