Release 0.15.1 - ChangeLog
Now that DownThemAll! 2.0 is out, I made a compatible ThumbsDown release that still works with 3.6. It's only available from project home page.

0.16 only. I didn't bother to back port it to 0.15, sorry.

oh...and v0.16 is Firefox 4 only, right?(I'm still on Firefox 3 because the majority of plug-ins that I use aren't yet compatible with beta4...)
Well, I guess I'll wait till FF4 will be "worth using" and make the transition later, thanks for the update though.

Frustrating problem creating script/RegExp :@ :(
New here. I sense all discussion about the given plugin is massed in the same thread.
OK, so I've started using thumbsdown a while ago and now I am completely STUCK at the pattern expression of the script wizard. I'm sorry to be pretty blank here, but this doesn't make any god damn sense.
Here's an example of the URLs I'm trying to grab..
A thumbnail URl...
http://gorillamask.net/images/content/2011/6/Q3l3wj-[10 digit number].jpg
...has the Image URL:
http://gorillamask.net/images/content/2011/6/1fE6Nf-[10 digit number].jpg
Right before the 10 digit numbers there are a variety of different expressions, such "guKUyz-", "CdHyab-". I tried to use the different commands provided in the examples such as "$1" to "(\d+)\" "\d+\" where the adress differs, but none of them worked!
And therefore I can't click 'next' to get all the images.
I already selected the actual images to be grabbed, in the initial wizard steps, so I don't even get why you have to enter scripts as well.. But any help with the script would be appreciated!

Yep, there's just this one topic for ThumbsDown here at mozillazine forums. There's a dedicate ThumbsDown forum at mozdev [1], which I assume you already found [2], so I'll answer you there.

Hmmm, many many thanks!:) I've been away for long due to several issues, study, festival etc.
But I'll gladly look into it and see how it works.

Re: [Ext] ThumbsDown 0.18 - Bulk image downloader - 2011-06-
Why is that this crappy script generator won't work no matter what one tries!
Various guides about Thumbsdown have stated that typing a '.' replace any kind of character in the given filename, but the script wizard won't accept it and just make all the listed thumb links go red, so I simply just can't nail photos when the filenames differentiate from each other! (in this case ending with 530x795.jpg mostly, but with a few that ends with i.e. 530x353.jpg).
NO COMMAND tends to work when they are typed in the template field.
Why do you even have to write expressions, when you already select the actual photos in the first few steps of the wizard runner... Bloody hell.

Issue #11 doesn't seem to relate to the problem I was having. Looking at the description, it features renaming queued images for downloading to a certain folder, I'm having trouble even writing an expression in the template field that even allows for the images to be downed in the first place..

Script Wizard is not crappy. But it's not all-powerful either. It's a tool to help you write regular expressions needed by the script. That is, it doesn't generate regexps for you (most of the time), it just helps you to write them. Understanding the basics of regular expressions is helpful.

In regular expressions, '.' (dot) will match any *one* character. '.+' will match any character one or more times. '\d+x\d+\.jpg' would match both your examples. Refer to this if you don't understand why: http://code.google.com/p/thumbsdown/wiki/RegExp

Because the idea is that you create a script based on a couple thumbnails and images, and then download a thousand images from the same web site using that same script, not just the original couple images your script was based on. Of course you can download those thousand images individually but I think that would be time consuming.
In general, if you have a problem creating a script for some site, post a link to that site and ask politely if someone can help you. But like I said, understanding the basics of regular expressions goes a long way when using ThumbsDown.

Re: [Ext] ThumbsDown 0.19 - Bulk image downloader - 2011-11-
Release 0.19 - ChangeLog
The most visible change in this release is that the script management has been moved from options dialog to separate Script Manager window. Scripts have also a couple new properties: Scripts can be enabled/disabled and you can see when they were last used (toggle extra columns to be visible in Script Manager). Multiple scripts dialogs can be open at the same time and script dialog can be opened from Script Runner.
In issue 10 I added support for image map thumbnails. Probably a quite useless feature, but it's there anyway and it's preparation for css background thumbnails (issue 9) in case I ever get around implementing them.
Of translations, only sv-SE and zh-CN are included. The other un-complete ones are not. I think that the un-complete are more or less abandoned at this point. If you want finish them or start a new one, you can find them in BabelZilla.
As usual, if you notice anything broken or have feature request, post here.

Thanks for another update, Atte.
The only thing I'm missing in the script manager now is the Export/Import feature, to backup/restore your script-list or parts of it (a.k.a "export selected").
Also, I think I've asked this before:
often you encounter sites, where one thumbnail links to a page that contains several full-size images (like photos taken from different angles & etc.).
Do you plan to support such download-scenarios in Thumbsdown at some later point? Maybe with some special script?
