Re: [Ext] Undo Closed Tabs Button v3.7.0 (04/20/10)

Post by Elusis »

I seem to have a bug. I originally reported it as a possible Firefox bug: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=561570

But when I finally resolved the profile issues that were keeping me from saving sessions, and I had time to dig through multiple re-starts, Undo Closed Tabs 3.6.2 seems to be the source of the problem as it only resolved when I disabled the extension. I'm using Firefox 3.6.3.

From my original Bugzilla report, here's what happens:

If I have been browsing in my current window for a while, and have not
activated the "list all tabs" in some time, when I click on it, it turns blue
but does not show the drop-down menu with my tabs listed. I have to click on
it a second time to "de-activate" it, then a third time to actually activate
the drop-down. If it has recently been activated (within maybe 5 minutes or
so, though I haven't timed it formally), the color change and drop-down happen
simultaneously as they should.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open multiple tabs in Firefox
2. Leave the "list all tabs" button alone for several minutes (5+?)
3. Click the "list all tabs" button - it will change color but the drop-down
will not show.
4. Click the button again to de-activate it.
5. Click the button one more time - it will change color and the drop-down will
show.
Actual Results:
The drop-down menu takes three clicks to activate instead of one.

Expected Results:
The menu should activate with only one click.

I am using the default theme.

I am using the following add-ons: FeedFilter, Firefox PDF Plugin for Mac,
Flashblock, LiveJournal Addons, Session Manager, Undo Closed Tabs Button,
AdBlock, Better Gmail, Delicious Bookmarks.

Do we have identical setups? This bug is persistent for me.

What would you like me to do next?

how do you go about actually putting it on a toolbar? i downloaded the newest version (3.7.1) so i could use it with firefox 4.0 b1 and its not showing up on my toolbar or in View -> Toolbars -> Customize
I have included a screenshot to show (click for full size). I am positive the add-on is enabled as it shows as enable in firefox add-on manager, and if i right click i get the undo last closed tab. if you could tell me how to get the button back to the left of my tabs it would be much appreciated. :D

Hmm, that is weird. Are there any errors in the error console right after you start firefox? You can also try hitting the "restore default set" button to see if it fixes it.

well i managed to figure out the problem. two of my addons that didn't conflict before firefox 4.0 and the new undo closed tabs button (not sure which actually causes the issue) for whatever reason make the button not show up. If either of the two addons are enabled they make the button not show up. The two addons are: "Sothlink web video downloader" v5.7 and also "PDF Download" v3.0.0.1
I disabled them for now.

Did one of them add a button to the tabbar? Either way, it is probably because there code hasn't been updated for the new toolbars.

I never heard back about my bug report from mid-June above. The problem persists. I am glad to try other things to help narrow it down, but I have definitely concluded that it is the Undo Closed Tabs Button extension that is the issue.
